      That high-pitched noise that most adults can't hear...





      Most people over 30 shouldn't be able to hear it...
      But it really kills your ears if you can! xD I'm way under 30 and I can hear it loud and clear.

      So, can you?

      I'm 37 and I can hear it if I turn the volume up. It is a very annoying noise!!

      There was some building, I don't remember what it was, where teenagers were hanging around and adults wanted them to stop. So they made mosquito noise blare constantly around the building with apparent success.

      I remember in high school a few people decided to use those as ringtones for a while. The teachers could never hear it and were always confused when half the class started covering their ears. It was pretty annoying.

      I was just reading my way through a thread about "which sense would you miss the most?". I was going with taste, But if this would play everywhere I'd go with hear. That sound is horrible.

      I can hear all of the ones from Dianeva. But the last one just sounded like a "pop"

      I remembering hearing about the mosquito on the news some time back and I was thinking "YAY stores" until it pointed out how painful the sound could be for a baby or another youngster who has little/no control over leaving or remaining inside a store.
