The purpose is to make them pay for what they are doing to you. It wouldn't be good to just knock it over while they are fighting you but if you have gotten away from them and are trying to find a back door or something then it would be a good idea to break the stuff.

Exactly! And you couldn't get charged for it because you could just say while you were trying to escape you knocked over a few T.v's to buy yourself some time or something.

Excuse my language, but seriously. Those girls are f*cked up. I mean, if I really wanted to hurt someone, it wouldn't be over something like that, and I would most definitely find an emotional way to scar them.

Society is f*cked up right now. Worshipping celebrities who have no brains, worshipping TV shows, worshipping rap / hiphop stars who endorse sex and violence.... I hate to sound like my mother, but seriously. I'm so glad I'm a 'freak' that watches anime and couldn't give two craps about movie stars.

They're in custody. Trying to contact them isn't going to solve a thing. I heard some of the phone calls the mother of one of the attackers received, and those people are just as messed up as the eight!

How are they just as messed up as the teenagers that assaulted a girl 8 on 1? I guess it is wrong to call them and do that but it is nothing compared to what the eight teens did.

Perhaps not as messed up in action, but their intentions are no less appalling than the attackers. Is it not enough that those kids' parents know that their children are in prison? On top of that, they're getting death threats and other angry phone calls, telling them just how terrible they and their kids are. I don't know the parents, obviously, so I don't know what kind of parents they were, but the ultimate fault does not lie with them.

Also, keep in mind that in a fight any weapon you have could be taken and used against you. Also, take into consideration the possibility that even if it is a case of self-defense, you can be accused of assault with a deadly weapon if you attack them or defend yourself with said weapon. Sure, it's self-defense in your eyes, but is it going to hold up in court?

Apparently "fuck you I hate you how can you let your daughter do such a thing" is equivalent to beating someone senseless for a half an hour...

By the way, I believe most of the fault DOES lay in the parents. Parents are, so they say, the most significant factor in the outcome of a child's personality. Have you seen one of the mothers respond to this incident: "It just goes to show you that you shouldn't say stuff online that you don't have the nerve to back up." Does that not scream that it is the fault of the parents in raising their children? I am not saying the kids should not be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but it is, of course, largely due to the parent. I realize you said the "ultimate" fault, but I'm just addressing the parents' responsibility here.

And yes, you can be charged for using a weapon, but with a video like that, do you really think they'd convict the girl? If she whipped out a knife and they came at her and she stabbed them? I think the video pretty clearly shows that it would hold up in court. As I said, I am against her fighting back with simply her body. But if she has another weapon, and they are still foolish enough to come at her (especially 8v1), it is definitely her prerogative to take action.

I really disliked the whole story on it.

The guy said things like "the media is teaching our children for fame and fortune..!"

Like. No. Stop immediatley going to the media. Anyone who videotapes a six-to-one fight is completely and utterly demented. The television has alot less to do with this. It's an overall degrade on society. The first time I saw this, I was sitting in my living room with my mom.

Because peer pressure could have nothing to do with what happened. Didn't they mention that the girl leading her to the house told her not to go in, but the girl did anyways? That's an indication of peer pressure at work; she was unsure about what was about to happen and tried to warn her, but when it didn't work...she didn't tell anyone what was going on.

I think the video established that the woman who said that wasn't the parent raising her daughter. It was the girl's grandmother raising her and the mother came in to say some bullshit for her fifteen minutes in the spotlight.

You'd think a criminal couldn't sue for getting hurt while robbing someone, too, but it happens. By the way it was 6v1 with the two guys standing watch. Hence where the number 8 came from.

Who gets to decide which people are ignorant, arrogant, greedy, liars, thieves, or stupid? Because there is a lot of people that would probably declare you as one of the aforementioned, true or not, just to be an asshole.
