"Zombie mode" when alarm goes off

Alright dreamviews I need you help on this one. During the weekdays I have to get up at 6:00 so I have an alarm set on my iPhone to wake me up. The alarm is on a radio app that requires you to enter a code to stop the alarm. The thing is that when I get up at this kinda time I go into something I like to call "zombie mode". I wake up, put the code in and get back into bed without any conscious thought. When I wake up properly later I vaguely remember putting the code in and that's about it. I just can't stop myself going back to sleep when this happens because it's not like I can say to myself "okay don't go back to sleep". I just can't think. At all. I'm actually surprised I can function well enough to put the code in. Then again it takes me a few tries. Can anyone suggest anything to help me combat my zombie mode? I know I'll just get people saying to go to sleep earlier but I've got xbox that needs playing and its not going to rank up in cod for me you know :L

      Thanks in advance

I also suffer from this problem with my alarm clock.

Maybe you're too used to the code and that's the only reason you can enter it automatically, so maybe you should try changing the code every week or so.

You could try putting the iphone across the room, somewhere that's difficult to get to even, maybe on top of some high shelf or something.

Or you could get another alarm clock, a backup, maybe a dual one so that you have 3 alarms. Set them all a few minutes apart.

If you're desperate, if anyone else in your house is up at that time, or a friend is up at that time, you could ask the person in your house to wake you up and make sure you get up, or ask the friend to phone you at a certain time, and talk to you to make sure you stay up.

I rarely go into what you call 'zombie mode' very badly anymore, but I use a mixture of about every method (except the first because I use a normal alarm clock) I described above on exam days that I can't risk sleeping in past.

I've had this to a certain extent. You could of course get more sleep. Sometimes I have some caffeine ready when I wake up, and by ready I mean like right beside my bed, and that also helps if you need it certain days.

      Thanks for the replies

I would change the code but I'd probably forget it and manage to lock myself out of my phone. I've tried moving my phone away from me and sometimes I've hidden it from myself. It sometimes workd but other times I end up giving up and sleeping with it on (I can sleep through ANYTHING). Same with the 3 alarms. I just sleep over them after the first one.I think I'll try a combination of all three hmmmm.... I could come up with the ultimate waking up device O.O I'll try this thanks!

I was thinking about an ultimate device. Something that sprays water maybe? A bed that folds into the wall? I did a quick google search:

There are some hilarious ones here, including an alarm that hangs above your bed and elevates higher to the ceiling every time you hit snooze, one that makes you shoot a laser at the centre of a target to turn it off, and one that that flies around your room and makes you catch it.

I also did find one that sprays water.

I guess this would work, as long as you don't sleep with a loaded gun under the pillow or beside the bed. lol

I had a similar problem, and found that I was fairly dehydrated in the morning. I started drinking a full glass of water during my WBTB and found it was a lot easier to get up in the morning. I also use a dual-alarm with the first being the radio, then the second turning on the annoying beeping about 5 minutes later. I tend to wake up to the radio then listen for a bit and go back to sleep. Then when the beeping comes on, I'm ready to get out of bed and break the thing in half. Also might mention that my alarm clock is about 10 feet away from my bed.

I had trouble with this recently, but when I got up I just went straight outside my room and downstairs. By the time I had breakfast I was roughly clear headed.

Those are AWESOME. Except the shape puzzle one. I've read about that one before and apparently you can just press the button without putting the shapes in so it's a waste of time :/ But I have to get that laser target one. Thanks didn't expect this thread to get many replies X)
