Polyphasic Sleeping - You NEED ASSISTANCE

Recently I read a post made by zebra about him trying a polyphasic sleep schedule .
He failed and quite misserably . Here is what I believe his faults were.

Firstly he started his sleep schedule to sundenly . You dont go spliting youre sleep in 4 parts and then think its going to work .

Secondly if he was to start this sundely with a 4 phased sleep he would need assistance ,meaning people to keep him awake during his adaptation hour .

Now I will write a few tips if one is interested in trying succesfully polyphasic sleep.

My sleep cycle is a 3 phase with a 3 hour core a 1 hour 30 min nap and a 30 min nap.

If you have a lot of time and want to sleep polyphasicly without a too intense adjustment period I woul suggest starting regular reduced monophasic .

Its quite a simple idea and it alows to form a polyphasic schedule over time .
In principle you lower youre sleep by a set amount every week . For example I lowered my sleep about 15 minutes every week . Once I started getting tired due to sleep deprivation I added a 1 hour 30 min nap , It should be noted that I stoped lowering the core when the nap was added . Once I got full waking functionality I continued lowering the core , Once I started feeling tired again I added a third nap and then adjusted around those times .

In total I have about 5 hours of sleep a day .

Now if you want to do it the quick and hard way , wich I also have done with Uberman . I did Uberman for about 5 months , Though it should be noted that the first 2 were adaption , functionality was quite low , and you will suffer(not as much as I did though) So what I did I had friends sleep over at my place and make sure I was awake 4 hours and then sleep 20 minutes . I cant stress the importance of assistance . If you dont have someone backing you up you will be misserable and be bount to fail . If you want To start polyphasic sleep fast then prepare to have people that will be ready to help you .

      Now some other important things.
Sleeping times must be as consistent as possible , 10~20 minute difference wont be bad but anything more and you might have trouble adjusting .
Avoid caffeine , if you have to get caffeine make sure you will be awake for at least 7 hours , in my case my first nap starts at 6 pm and since I wake up at 7 am , I do drink coffee .
Big meals should be at least 2 hours before a nap . Eating a toast or a fruit wont do bad , but for the big meal of the day no. If you have less than 6 hours of sleep , ad another meal .
The long terms of polyphasic sleep are not known , so long term polyphasic sleeping can be considered unhealthy . I do this for quite a substancial time and planning to keep on doing so .

Thanks for reading , hoped it helps .

Do you have any reference to other people practicing polyphasic sleep this was (with 90 minutes long nap)?
