Question Gentle waking alarm clock under $30.00?

I understand that getting up an hour before you are actually intending to be up and going back to sleep helps with attaining lucidity.

Well I hate waking up to an alarm clock. Makes it nearly impossible to remember my dreams. I have radio or buzz to choose from on my current one.

I was wondering if there was an inexpensive alarm clock that would wake you up more gently? What options are out there? Maybe an alarm clock that will send you flashing lights or something to help you get lucid?

Just curious to see what my options are. Thanks!

If you have a smartphone, there are a lot of great apps that let you set up your own gentle music/sound for waking up.

Why not? They are extremely effective for quality of life things, just like what this thread is about. You could buy a cheap used one off ebay and just keep it around for this, get content on wifi and so on.

If you aren't planning on carrying it around in your pocket all day, you could also go for a tablet. I don't think you'll find one for $30, but you can get either of the last B&N Nook tablets, which have really nice screens, for under $150, and who knows what you can find on craigslist or ebay. Budget tablets tend to be cheaper than phones because they don't have as many radios and sensors. Phones have been my only alarm clock for over ten years, and a phone or tablet is going to be much more flexible as an alarm than any dedicated alarm clock you can buy.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
