      My first attempt. Help?

Okay so I'm new to all this. All I did was see someone mention this on a Britney Spears forum, so I researched it and here I am.

This is pretty exciting. I've been interested in the whole imagination, flying through time and space in your head thing for a while.

The other techniques are boring to be honest and I really want to try this one. I've been Sleep paralysed before but it was scary. I remember waking up and crying.

How crazy is it that only three years later I'm attempting to get this way.

So any advice on my first time? I really want to lose my Lucid dreams virginity

I'm going to try binural beats.

Should I keep my eyes open?

Hey ChrolliSpears, welcome to Dreamviews! Hope you can find your way to lucidity through the many helpful people here and their posts.
I'm just going to note a couple things, try starting off slow as you wont be able to do everything you want instantly in lucid dreams.
You have to learn to stay calm and manipulate the world through experience. (According to most of the forum )
Anyways, here's a couple tutorials that might help you that I've read and have helped me, look through them in detail and try what they have. Good luck!

      Mancon's In Depth WILD Guide
      Yoshi's WILD Tutorial
      CrazyInSane's WILD Tutorial
      Wiki Tutorial
      jeff777's Free Falling WILD Tutorial

This might be overwhelming but the point they are trying to get across is basically the same. Hope I helped. Thanks

Don't keep your eyes open -- you want to fall asleep on some level, don't forget.
Like Telinir posted, you should definitely read some good guides. You'll probably make some newbie mistakes at first (I think we all do), but those will help you keep them at a minimum. Remember: you can't WILD at the beginning of the night, you must wake yourself up after 4-7 hours of sleep; try not to treat it like a checklist or step by step process; relax, otherwise you'll never fall asleep; know that no sensations can harm you; and always keep in mind that your WILDing experience is unique to YOU. It may take a while to fine tune when you need to wake up, how exactly you relax, and what your transition is like.

Welcome to the forum, welcome to the journey good luck.

Try not to get TOO excited or you'll wake yourself up! Lucid dreaming is one of the best experiences in the world because you can do...well...EVERYTHING. There are no rules at all. You may read on here people saying it's difficult to fly, or levitate objects, or make things appear (or whatever you want to do). The thing is, that's a self-fulfilling prophecy--if you think you'll fail at something, you will. So just don't think that! In the dreamworld, if you believe you'll succeed, you actually will. You can talk to people in your life, have superpowers, fly across the galaxy, fly into school/work and amaze everyone, spend time with your favorite people...the possiblities truly are endless, and you are getting your sleep while you do so! I find the dreamworld to be preferable to the real world most of the time.

Good luck in your endeavour. I had a lucid dream the first night I tried. It was two years until my next one. The internet didn't exist at that time and I just had one book to go by. Study the forum, there is everything you need here to learn to lucid dream. I wouldn't use binaural beats to induce lucidity, if you did use them under the best conditions it's highly unlikely they will work. There are much more solid proven methods with full tutorials on the website.

How am I not going to get too excited after reading your reply? Omg I'd rather live in the dream world if that's what its like. Yes, I do believe I can achieve what I want to have in my dreams. Your brain can do anything if you set your mind to it. If you can imagine these things then you can dream about them. Thank you so much. You really have increased my motivation Sanctum <3

With that attitude, study and practice and you will succeed. And when you do you will be hooked for life.

      Thank you mcwillis.

Okay well my first time was a fail.

First I tried to do it at 5 a.m after being awake all night. I had coffe at 12 a.m because I just ran out of energy and I wanted to stay up so my heart was beating pretty fast. I kept trying and trying. I started with Yoshi's tutorial. When I finally gave up, I fell asleep. I had a dream. Not lucid at all. In the dream I shaved my head, went to this weird hotel and then I woke up.

So this morning I woke up at 11 so that's about 4 hours or sleep exluding the one hour in which I attempted to get into SP.

      I tried again, didn't work!

What am I doing wrong? My heart keeps beating, my position gets uncomfortable and I can't stop thinking. My body gets numb, but that's about it. What am I supposed to feel the second I go into SP and how am I supposed to react?

Also I'm an extremely light sleeper. Like the tiniest sound wakes me up.

Whenever I want a good binaural beat experience I put on an old Pink Floyd Album.

      LOL Faceonmars.

Ok mcwillis..the book works now. I'm reading through it. It explains what we should do when we got to the sleep paralysis. Not how to get to the sleep paralysis. It's quite frustrating.

      Haha awww mcwillis..thank you though.

Ok so last night I took two actifed pills which make you really sleepy and I stayed up until 3 a.m. Did some breatheing meditation and layed on my back waiting to fall into sleep paralysis hoping it would work even though most people say it dosen't if you haven't slept for 4-6 hours but guess what. I think I wild-ed. I'm not sure what it was but I started to see some different lights in the darkness and all of a sudden my body went numb. Then my eyes started to open by themselves and I couldn't control them so they did and it was over. So I got really frustrated.

Then I set the alarm to 6:45 so I can get up and try the WBTB again. I failed. Something about my body disables me from going back to sleep after waking up. It dosen't matter if I slept 8 hours or 2. If I'm up, then I'm up.

Anyway going to go fill in my first journal entry <3

And I am not giving up. I'm going to get lucid if it's the last thing I do

I'm not an expert at all, but it sounds to me like you were either in the sleep paralysis phase or that you were transitioning from SP to lucid dreaming. That's just my ignorant opinion, though.

Angelpotter I don't know what it was but you know what, my body has been extremely really relaxed ever since I started this and it's extremely addicting to be honest so I don't mind trying harder.

Okay I think I'm getting closer. I'm having hallucinations and all that. I think my bed is kinda the problem of me not being to able to get there faster. It's like one of those doctor recommended jumpy beds that you sink into and it's not my bad is laying completely flat, know what I mean?

What I have noticed though is the fact that my dreams have been extremely more vivid ever since I started to attempt WILDing.
