      Need help with passive observation

OK, I've found out that associations game works for me as a mental anchor. I play and dream starts to form. But then I realize what is happening and nearly created dream disappears. So I need to improve passive observation, I need to remain self-aware and still let dream form. Any advice?

      Hi there.

Could you explain the "association game"? With words, images, or how?

      Thanks.

Association Game is anchor which Mzzkc in his guide explained: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...ild-guide.html

And for you Elaol unfortunely i can't give you much of advice since i myself rarely get hypnagonic stuff during wilds
The best choice would be simply experimenting
Example: Since looking at dreamscape forming made it dissappear maybe i'il just ignore it and keep on using my technique?
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

Two things: try the zen vision technique in sivason's dream yoga class. Second, place your awareness on something that allows you to remain aware of the images but not focused on them. You could try simply being aware of awareness (meditation without a support). You could also try a mantra. I only get the auditory hallucinations, but I like repeating a mantra. I focus on the mantra and allow the talking and sounds around me to get louder until a dream forms. But I don't focus on any of the sounds. So just sort if let the images form around you without paying them much attention.

Please tell me what is Zen vision, I can't find it anywhere.... And it is kinda hard to focus on mantra, since I don't have one. Associations work best for me....

Elaol, I have the same problem. I am pretty good at DILD, having had over 200. Last night I had a DILD but disappointed myself by wasting time trying to get clothes off someone for sex. When I awoke, I wanted to have an LD and not waste it. I stilled my mind and next thing I knew I am on the same city location as my DILD was at, just down the street a bit. I dont think I lost consciousness... I don't experience SP or vibrations... I was just there, and in my normal mind, so I decided to walk, starting a nice LD.
After awaking I tried the same technique, and had at least 6 close calls. The dream would start to form..some even had audible voices.. I would notice it and wake up. The last time I must have fallen more asleep and had a fairly clear, but non-lucid dream. So, this passive stuff is hard. Too much awareness and I awake. Too little and its sweet dreams. How do you stay conscious without being too aware of the dream? Seems like a real balancing act.
