WBTB problems when you share a bed with a partner

Hello guys, I have time to spare once again so once again I am back to explore the LD world. My first task is to WILD and I would like to try WBTB but I share a bed with my partner and do not want her to suffer as a result of my experimentation. The last thing she needs are alarm clocks waking HER up half way through her sleep cycle.

I can be a bit of a deep sleeper sometimes so waking up is not the easiest thing to do. So last night for my first try I drank apprx 750ml to 1000ml of water before bed thinking that with that much liquid in my body, it would process through in about 3-ish hours and I would wake up naturally with the call of nature.

However the reality was somewhat different. It took soo long to go to sleep that I already needed one bathroom break before I eventually nodded off and I slept soo lightly that it wasnt really a sleep at all. I woke after about 2 hours with the partner moving around the room (go figures) and I didnt feel the expected bladder busting urge to use the bathroom as I thought I would so I waited for herself to go back to sleep and then tried to attain SP but it wasnt happening, my body wasnt relaxed enough and it didnt feel as it had in the past during WILD attempts.

I decided to just go back to sleep and had another 6-ish hours of frustratingly light sleep. It was my first dreamless night in weeks too so i was a bit miffed..

My question; For those of you who share a bed with partner, what is the best way you have found to wake yourself early without disturbing your other half..?

And, is the water trick a bad idea when it comes to dreaming..?

The only good thing that has come out of this however is that based on my sleep deprevation from last night, i will have an interesting night after a hit of Calea Z. tonight

I use something called "The Invisible Clock".

It's a small clock that can be set to vibrate or beep or both. There are three vibration levels and you can set up to 12 alarms. I often use the vibration setting on the highest level, wrap the small clock in a face towel and simply lay the clock so that it's pressed against my body. The vibration isn't "jarring" and another plus to a vibrating clock is that it doesn't disturb anyone else when it goes off (not even someone who is laying right next to me).

Below is one of the websites that sell the Invisible Clock: http://www.buddhasplace.com/Merchant...ry_Code=Clocks

You could also try the power of "suggestion". Tell yourself when you go to sleep "I wake up 4 o'clock" Repeat it a few times and say it with intention - it usually does the job for me - unless I'm really tired. You wake up many times during the night without noticing (remembering) - so saying this to yourself helps to become conscious. Maybe it won't be exactly at 4 o'clock but approx.

I can't use an alarm-clock either as my wife is a light-sleeper and wakes up even with the slightest buzz from a cell-phone - annoying.... but still I sometimes manage to wake up 3-4 times during night to do Dream-yoga and sometimes WILD-attempts - all thanks to suggestion.

Thank you very much clairity.. It was your WBTB technique that i was following so quite apt that you have replied with a good idea

@ TJ - Power of suggestion does nothing for me with regards to waking up. I use POS for a few things in life with success but it never ever ever wakes me up
