Dr. Stephen LaBerge is a psychophysiologist who has played a huge part in bringing lucid dreaming to the world's attention. He has done many studies about lucid dreaming, allowing us to know so much more about lucid dreaming.
LaBerge wrote the famous book "Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming" (ETWOLD), which has brought interest of lucid dreaming and inspired many people. He was also the one who came up with the idea of a dream mask, which detects when you go into REM, and flashes a light to remind you it is a dream. In 1987 he founded the Lucidity Institute which is an organization that promotes lucid dreaming. He also holds classes, primarily in Hawaii on lucid dreaming.
