Struggling to have another lucid dream, can somebody adopt me?

I've only had one lucid dream back in january and that was a DILD. For about 10 months I've known about and tried lucid dreaming and just can't get it right. The closest I've gotten to a WILD was two nights ago, where I got too scared because I felt something on top of me and felt like I was being stared at, plus my heart rate went crazy. Anybody who can straighten me out about all this would be appriciated, also anybody who can stand a million questions.
