Thread: Icedawg needs help on new theme

wow that was kinda unexpected and without warning and stuff like that.

i see nothing wrong with this one, yet the new one hurts my eyes with that viewtopic and header. and a lot of stuff...

DW, please contact Icedawg at the email address I posted. I spoke with him this morning, the code is almost finished, maybe by this weekend. He needs help, especially with the footers.

new theme will be up and running by the end of this weekend, and will be replacing this one. If you haven't already checked out http://www.dreamviews.com/kickass_forum please do so now. it is almost completely done, save for some issues here and there which i have been avoiding until all templates are done (and they are now). if you don't like the new theme, a scaled-down version of subsilver will be introduced shortly thereafter, sans images, intended specifically for our dial-up friends but available to anyone.

We NEED a banner for the new theme. Dimensions are 948 width, and anywhere between maybe 100-140 or so height. If you don't want to see the stretched/warped one that is currently on top, please help out. We also need a footer designed. With or without the aforementioned, this theme will be up by the end of this week.


suggestions about the theme are also welcome, but negative comments without suggested improvements are not. if you don't like it, suggest how to improve it. this will likely follow suit with our current theme's implementation: it'll get implemented and then improved slowly as things occur to me or are suggested.

I don't know if i have any say in here but I thought I would put my 2 cents in. Maybe it is too late but I thought I would say I think "Dream Views, Lucid dreaming forum" up at the top needs to be bigger wording and I don't like the gray margins on either side.... otherwise I think it looks great. One way or another I think it will be great!

what resolution are you running? if it's 1024 * 768, then i know the grey sides don't look that great. at larger (like mine is 1280 * 1024) you can see two shadows running vertically beside the forum, which end in a little lighter of a grey. of course, if you already see that, then nevermind. i tried different colours, and i found the dark grey helped make the lighter page stand out more. and the shadows...well...they're just cool (they were Dylan's original idea).

she was referring to the outer page margins (outside the banner).

hrm...well make sure it's not too dark though, because i've turned down a couple like that already because it makes the forum look too spooky. (many people already associate LDing with crap like witchcraft and whatnot, so we don't want to further endorse those ideas.)

Like a dumb ass i didn't even think that it may be different with resolution...duh hehe i think it looks great one way or another I will get used to the little bit of gray... good work and thanks for the response!
