Poem: Living Ties
Now, i don't usually go rating my own work, i'm very shy of that sort of thing, but i think personally that this is one of the best things that i have ever written...
you guys, let me know what you think of it...
These ropes that bind me are living,
And alive.
They are your words, your voice.
Your eyes, your hands, your face.
Scent and sensation, a longing
That never dies.
They are the burning gaze,
Like that of a sphinx, a riddle I can’t solve,
Yet I know the answer to it.
The more I struggle to be free,
The tighter they bind, like cold
Steel, yet softer than satin
They hold me a prisoner.
I am bound to you forever, the
Body may break free, but that’s no
Good, for heart and mind are
Forever trapped, like flies in amber.

I always enjoy reading your poems Irishcream. This is one of your better ones. They seem to always be something I feel and not just read. The first paragraph drew me in. there was no turning back after reading it. Good job and don't quit posting your poems.

thank you for your comments, it was something i wrote very much on the spur of the moment, really. After something that had happened to me during the course of the day with someone, and i had to get it down.
the first line had been running round my head for a while, but yesterday came the rest of it!!
