The Flower of Babylon

A poem I wrote today during a walk through the woods. Im working on my style and I know poems about nature are passe but let me know what you think.


Longing, the most fertile soil
whose persistent roots emerge
from the darkest of wombs
unfolding inevitably towards the sunlight
Its whisper resonates throughout the woods
My home, I have returned
and arose from darkness
to behold the giving sun
only to be cast into shadow once again
cursed to whither and decay
Until
the morning star greets life with hope
and radiant benevolence
from which all things emerge
To replenish the eternal river
which flows through us
again and again and again and again.

Wow its way good! Who cares if nature poems are passe. As long as it comes from the heart than you shouldn't care.
