Afraid to live (a short story)

(YOUR FEED BACK IS APPRECIATED, THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO READ)

A group of children ran around the playground causing trouble and having fun. The moment was perfect, no worries about the future, no regrets, just having fun, right now. Except for one kid. Charles, sat on the ledge of a brick wall in the corner area of the playground, staring down into the tanbark poking his tiny fingers past the squashy bark and into the coarse and red dirt. Three radiant young school girls approached the morbid boy and asked if he wanted to ride the see saw. Young charle's tensed up and shook his head. Inside, Charles felt like he had just been asked to go to Cancoon and play in the ocean underneath the beautiful sun. Even though he felt deep down like this was the ultimate oppurtunity to befriend some nice girls and have fun in the proccess, he could not stop imagining thousdands of different scenarios in which life would take a turn on him. Still crouching near the tanbark drilling his fingers violentley into the ground, he envisioned himself falling off the monkey bars and all three girls pointing and laughing in his face. He would cry, and he would die, if this happened. Charles knew from past experiences, that he was prone to failure, and even theorized that he had a 94 % chance at failing.

The boy then clenched as he felt his index finger push into the surface of something very hard. After briefly tearing up thinking his finger would fall off, he curiously began to dig, and pulled a minature treasure chest out of the ground. He dusted off the red dirt of the lid, and then opened it to reveal two tiny silver colored marbles. Charles intuitevly clanked the balls together, and everything around him froze. He looked around in awe, as he saw his best friend Marko, who had just jumped off the top of the play structure, suspended 5 feet above the ground with his knees tucked in. Everything was motionless except charles, and the silver balls. Then Suddenly, the balls poofed into thin air, and Charles scared, retreated backwards almost tripping over the brick wall. A purple smoke began to conjure and Charles soon became englufed in a thick haze. Then Charles heard a deep reverberating voice ask "Where are you Charles?'
Charles was so shoked that all he could do is cough
      "Charles!" The voice demanded
"I don't know, I am scared" charles said
"I am THE NOW" said the mysterious voice. "You have inhaled me, so I now live inside you!"
      "What the hell" charles said.
      "fare well Charles"
Then like a time warp everything resumed, and Charles heard the sound of Marko going "Uhmp" as he hit the ground. Hel ooked around and everyhting seeemed different. Colors were bright, sun was shining, the air smelled fresh, and the voices of little kids dissapaited the play ground.Charles felt as though everything was exactly how it was supposed to be. Something inside him was different, and all his thoughts revolved only around the things that were happening right infront of him, and inside of him. As he gazed around at this world that seemed like a friend for the first time, he noticed the monkey bars, and smiled. He walkd over to three girls who swung and laughed and asked with confidence and clarity in his voice "Can I play?"

Hmmm, it is good. I understand the message and like the story's premise.

There are some grammatical flaws in the story itself that should be fixed.

Hmm, interesting. Despite some flaws, the story nevertheless proved to be somewhat entertaining, in mine opinion. Many social outcasts, I fancy, would probably recognize themselves in this.

...Although, I really think this article would have been better off written in a more poetic fashion--if nothing else, to elicit more emotion. (Shrugs) But that is just me.
