the pen looks friken amazing man. I learned blender a few years ago but i never got the hang of making textures and materials look believable. If I didn't know it was CG i would have to ask what camera you used. :P

None of this is advanced stuff in my opinion, maybe apart from the rust on the mines since that was procedural...
The ballpoint pen is really well done! Except for probably a dent near the rubber tube or it could just be the lighting.
Do you do the texture yourself too?
That's amazing, nice job! I used to mess around with Blender a couple years ago and think I was okay with some of the modeling, but this is far superior and that pen is fantastic.

I have tried 3DS Max, but I don't like it. The only reason I'd use 3DS Max is for the plugins, and even then Blender is catching up with it.
And trust me, it isn't a real pen :P

Ever thought about making a scene based on a dream? =)
I haven't really. Dreams are so varied and such, I think trying to make a piece based on one would be really hard, especially trying to get across both the super-reality and the fact that it's a dream. Would be a difficult thing to get a hold on.
yeah, i know. But I was thinking using one specific thing from the dream. Like a wierd creature or some architecture.
Im working on one now. Will post it when ready.
