Short story series: community involvement needed!

When i was in class, i was thinking about making a short story series for Ld'ing. I like to write now and then, and i like LD's, so why not combine the two? Don't be fooled by my mediocre posts!

When i say i would like community invlovement, i don't mean you guys would help me write the story.

You could...

-be a character in The story
-help me figure something out in one of your lucids (for both advanced and basic luciders).
-suggest where the story may go next

I need your guys' support for this! If it wont be for all you lovely people, i wouldnt be doing this!


I am planning this story to be about a girl in college, due to both being a girl and in college, since that is what i know best. But don't worry guys, seven eights of the community, this wont be girly, LOL.

I think this story will be a paranormal sci fi. Like, slightly freaky, and only semi sci fi... That is pretty much just to help get her lucid (what do i mean? you will have to see ;)). I will not make each update that long since i dont want to bore you, that is why it will be a series.


If you guys do not want to help but you will read it, please tell me! Tell your friends! LOL

Awesome, i may get the first part up today. Though, all these stories are going to connect. Its probably going to be a novella. That basically means its longer than your average short story, but definitely not a novel's length! Not sure on its title yet, though...

Been thinking about more specifics as to what it should be about...

Brooke seems to hold the perfect life to observers, but what they don't see is what is behind the scenes. She is still on the classic journey of self discovery. But what she finds out will surprise everyone... Even herself. Isn't that impossible?

It should tie dreams and LD's in well with her real life!

BTW, i had a dream that i was a girl named Brooke the other day in a dream! So, this is about her... I even knew what she looked like since i looked in a mirror.

I decided to add one more thing to this...

I know that many of you have said you'd help, so, first of all, i was wondering if i could maybe pick a few things from your DJ's? I may ask the whole community if id be allowed to. I want the dreams she has to seem dream-like. And while i could make it all up, it would be great to use some things that someone has actually dreamed about.

Also, I may simply ask a question here, but can i pm you guys if i have a question too? Just because the less people that know what could happen, the better.

Okay, i actually started a thread asking what kind of future this story. Shoudld ALLUDE to. As in, its pretty much in present day, but a certian utopian future is important. I started a thread for it in hopes more people would answer... None so far xD. I can always tink of it myself if need be.

Spoiler for Part 1: I am Not Perfect:

Answer after answer, I fill in the bubbles quickly. I am taking a test for my sociology class, and it's taking me no time at all to complete. This is not a surprise. I don't seem to have any problems at all to learn my subjects. Except for math, for some reason. Luckily, I didn't have to take a math class this semester at all. As long as I don't want to major in math or science, that is. I have no clue what career path I'd like to pursue. No idea at all. My teachers and parents have high hopes for me, though. Everyone thinks I'd be a good archeologist, or doctor.

The problem is, everyone thinks I'm perfect. Well, not everyone. Everyone in my life except for my close friends and parents think I am.

But, come on, no one can really think that. Everyone acts like I am, however.

I suppose I may get this trait from my parents. They've had 'perfect' lives. They were popular as kids, in more than one sport, and somehow, they were able to juggle school on top of that. My father is a neurosurgeon and my mother is a geologist. In some ways, I'm the same, but they claim 'I waste my time'. Which, I suppose, I can't blame them. I am in volleyball, but 'that is all'. Even though I've never had to study much for any of my classes, I have homework that sucks up all my time, essays, mostly. But, you see, I'm always 'taking breaks' to do something on the internet. From random searches, to social media sites, I've done it.

You'd think this evidence alone would be proof that I am no image of perfection. But people say stuff like, 'well, the image of perfection changes all the time, so the perfect person has to keep up with the times.'

Oh, bull shit. There are better things I could be doing, but I just don't do them.

Can you please see that I'm not perfect now, please?

This is exactly why my escape is in my dreams. They're just as weird and random- and as imperfect- as anyone else's. when I try to explain to a person that I'm not perfect (which is rare now-a-days since I know that it's no use), this is one of my major pieces of evidence. They usually claim that I must be lying, as if I wanted to be average, proving that I am not perfect. And that is exactly what I am doing, but no one believes me. It is as if people think that basic dreaming 'rules' don't apply to me.

When I try to do something that someone couldn't twist in their minds that I am not perfect,for some reason I can't find myself to do it.

Why? My brain is imperfect, but that is not shown in my actual life.

Well... For normal forum posts, i dont think it matters if i spell wrong and what not. It is important for grammer to be right for a stoey, though.

TBH, I didn't even notice if there were any typo's in the stoey (love it - it's the way a 4-year-old says story! :cheeky:).. I was just trying to be funny.

I just thought you meant for my posts in general xD. I proofread my story at least once.

I actually tend to typo alot as well, but more so in chats where i have to post faster than on forums, especially since i recently got a new keyboard. Looking forward for moar story. :cheeky:

Thanks you guys, last night when i was trying to fall to sleep, i thought of more bulk I could add to the story. It is gonna be a good time!

Btw.. I thought last night, it would be cool if Brooke went on Dv. I could make a separate account for her, and her posts would be related to the story... Of course that is against the rules but it would be cool xD.
