      neighborhood photos

      I've been interested in photography since September. In my spare time i like to roam around the city taking pictures of different neighborhoods. I started with just my cell phone camera until i got a real camera around late November. I probably have about over a thousand pictures by now, so i figure i share at least a few of them on here.

      Would you consider opening another flickre account (if you already have one). Then pick a photo and load it BUT make it "private" (for your eyes only).

      Then give me a few days to post an incubated dream. Then reaveal the photo by switching it to "public".

      I would like to have 2 a week.

      You look like you got lot and lots of photos. Flickr shows the time and date you uploaded a picture so I need you to load just one at a time and give me time to post a dream.

      This place was literally a war zone back in the day. Gang violence still happens here but its not nearly as bad as it was about 15-20yrs ago.
      Harlem is another area that made a dramatic change.

      The city is a vast landscape with amazing photo opportunities.

      Do you have any graphic-editing experience?

      Many of those photos could be quite interesting using cropping tools and in some cases a bit of blurring around key elements to draw focus to only tiny parts of the photos.

      It's amazing how the eye can be drawn to small points in a photo if they are properly highlighted.

      no, not really. i just take the shots then upload them to my computer. i try to capture the culture diversity of the neighborhoods but that's hard to notice from a picture. so instead i have videos of certain neighborhoods but the videos didn't come out as good as i wished. i'll share 2 for now.

      time square has definitely changed over the pass 20 years. before this place was filled with prostitutes, porn shops, strip clubs, pickpockets, drunks. now its cleaner, very disney like.

      i kinda miss the way it was in the mid-nineties.

      probably the richest neighborhood in the city. about 50 blocks up is east harlem, the poorest neighborhood in manhattan. (seen above)

      The Brownsville/East New York section of Brooklyn is the most dangerous neighborhood in New York City, hence its best to avoid roaming around the area especially after dark.
