I can imagine you diving down at the bottom in a pool, and start painting down there Chickadee23, but that you have to swim up to get some air from time to time.^^ |
Chickadee23, So now you know that my expectations of this painting is very high indeed. |

It's good that you have a level head, but believe me when I say we aren't deserving of any thanks for recognizing your talent. Your work is very creative, keep updating! |

Woha, that's one great babushka! You really capture the expression of her as being that warm-hearted person one imagine her to be^^ By the way, are this a oil painting? |
Thanks Dreamybear! It's actually acrylic on framed wooden panel. I did the background today so it looks different but I am thinking about giving her glasses I am still unsure though hmmm.... |
Finally done. Apologies for the inconsistent lighting it is very hard to take pictures with my phone. |
You are very talented Chickadee. Have you ever taken lessons in drawing/painting? Or did you learn it all by yourself? |

Cool stuff! Have you learned things about drawing/painting in those lessons that you otherwise probaly would have never learnt? In others words, was it worth it? |
All the basics and then some I started at a really young age, seven and i was lucky to have parents that let me take art lessons consistently until eighteen. It is the basis of what I know, you know? That being said I didn't learn everything from the lessons, much I discovered on my own too with practice and experimentation. Plus I am no where near done learning, I will never be done learning. Lessons are worth it, in many ways but mostly to learn how to see. They lay a foundation and then once you grasp the basic you can expand, like the old "walk before you run" cliche. Obviously though they are not necessary for everyone and many people take initiative to learn things on their own which is perfectly fine too. Henry Darger, was an outsider artist and his stuff was truly incredible. I guess what I am saying is that I can only speak for myself and I am grateful for all my art teachers cause each one added new perspective and approach. God this was a long response sorry about that :/ |

A teacher realises she will always be a student, ever heard of that?. Anyway thanks for elaborating! |
