Just some of my art
So I have been working on a winter seen that I made up, it's nowhere near finished. However I am wondering if I could use lucid dreaming to help finish the piece like if I could walk into my painting maybe. It's definitely an intriguing idea to me. Attachment 6317Attachment 6318 also I added a illustration that I just finished just for fun haha it's of my dog.
-
These are absolutely gorgeous.
I do like the idea of walking into a painting to get a better feel for the scene - I hope it works out!
-
The colours you use are amazing, so good!

This was an experiment to see what drawing is like with my dominant vs non-dominant hand. The images on the left side of the page is drawn with my right hand(dominant hand). The image on the right is drawn with my left hand ( non-dominant ). I drew from life, which I prefer when doing any kind of figure drawing :). They are just sketches each one took roughly 10 mins. I did find that shading was particularly hard as well as controlling pressure of the pencil. Overall pretty fun I would welcome others to try it too!
*the second photo got turned:( do the dominant hand is the bottom drawing and visa versa.

Wow, such lovely pieces!
Your right and left had experiment - love it.

Wow! That winter cabin picture really reminded me of when I went to the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.
All your artwork is great!
*edit*
I feel the need to add your background reminds me of Munch too! The art must flow!

^^Nought better than pissing off children from time to time! :D
Soo - the rest you got to biggen up yourself - photobucket, I use it myself.
And - very much in general - I love it, when people are courageous enough to not only keep their art for themselves or some real life people!
Being on a forum like this one - that fits perfectly well - and you are really good!
Keep them coming!

Attachment 6480Attachment 6481These are drawings that started as one thing and kinda morphed into something else xD 10 gold stars if you can figure out what the second image started as! Also just wanted to let you know I put a blue filter over the foot image ( thought it looked neat).
-
Wow these last two looks pretty dreamy/trippy. I love it! My guess on the second one is that it should be some kind of moth?:P
-
Thank you very much! Haha close but not really, it started off as a moped xD
-
Haha oooow, yeah now I see it!:D Cool cool^^

Okay more stuff yeh!!! These are some animals I have drawn as gifts to family members. The dog is a charcoal drawing of my lovely Levi. It was drawn from real life and this was difficult because she kept moving, but we worked it out XD There is a chimp I drew with pencils( hb,3b,4b,6b) I used a google image for my source image. And finally an acrylic painting of a sea-lion pup( by the way I think they are just about the cutest animals)
-
Those are beautiful, and that sea lion is cuute :D
-
Mother of God, what have I stumbled upon. Awesome art work, you've got a great skill.
-
Amazing work. I love the sea-lion, perfect drawing!!

-
I can imagine you diving down at the bottom in a pool, and start painting down there Chickadee23, but that you have to swim up to get some air from time to time.:P^^
-
Chickadee23, So now you know that my expectations of this painting is very high indeed.;) :D
-
@DreamyBear
Oh why did have to say that I always crumble under pressure  but I will do my best, actually to be honest it's not the greatest and today set me back a bit but it's a learning process right :D well regardless, thank you for the support!
-
It's good that you have a level head, but believe me when I say we aren't deserving of any thanks for recognizing your talent. Your work is very creative, keep updating!

Starting a new project even though I didn't finish my last one but I just needed to paint some textiles. This is of a babushka and inspired by the old curtains we have downstairs. It is not finished at all as you can see but I thought I would update my progress. I did not use external resources, this woman was just something I saw in my head and I finally after three days got the face somewhat ok. I can't wait to get started on the pattern on the head scarf :) I also realize this is somewhat creepy but I like garden gnomes so what can I say :p

*update* still not finished but I am getting there.
-
Woha, that's one great babushka! You really capture the expression of her as being that warm-hearted person one imagine her to be^^ By the way, are this a oil painting?
-
Thanks Dreamybear! It's actually acrylic on framed wooden panel. I did the background today so it looks different but I am thinking about giving her glasses I am still unsure though hmmm....

You are very talented Chickadee. Have you ever taken lessons in drawing/painting? Or did you learn it all by yourself?
-
@athylus
Thank you, that is kind. Yes I have had both lesson and just got my BFA in drawing painting. right now though I am teaching myself animation just for fun though :D
-
Cool stuff! Have you learned things about drawing/painting in those lessons that you otherwise probaly would have never learnt? In others words, was it worth it?
-
All the basics and then some :) I started at a really young age, seven and i was lucky to have parents that let me take art lessons consistently until eighteen. It is the basis of what I know, you know? That being said I didn't learn everything from the lessons, much I discovered on my own too with practice and experimentation. Plus I am no where near done learning, I will never be done learning. Lessons are worth it, in many ways but mostly to learn how to see. They lay a foundation and then once you grasp the basic you can expand, like the old "walk before you run" cliche. Obviously though they are not necessary for everyone and many people take initiative to learn things on their own which is perfectly fine too. Henry Darger, was an outsider artist and his stuff was truly incredible. I guess what I am saying is that I can only speak for myself and I am grateful for all my art teachers cause each one added new perspective and approach. God this was a long response sorry about that :/
-
A teacher realises she will always be a student, ever heard of that?. Anyway thanks for elaborating!

Been working on this piece again it's kinda a mess but it's a work on progress. I am not sure which side is up so that's why there are two images. I am using acrylic paints, markers, crayons... Well everything except the kitchen sink xD lots of fun though :D
