Spyke's Digital Art Stuff

Hello, everyone.

I've been away from this site for at least 2 years, so I might as well show you all what I've mainly been doing in the meantime... At least art-wise. I was able to get a drawing tablet for Christmas last year (That I bought for myself, ho ho ho.), and I was able to get the hang of drawing with it rather quickly. So every so often I'm going to update this with any art that I make. Allow me to start with my 3 most recent and/or favorite works, and then I'll update with some slightly older ones after.

Please let me know what you think. I'm still improving of course, so I could use some advice.

Soon, I'll begin drawing things from my dreams. Maybe I'll even take requests from you, it all depends whether or not my stuff here is met with some feedback. //It's hard to get feedback on DeviantArt for some reason.

I like how you painted all of them. The texture and details you put to the grass, bear and fallen angel is nice. Also, I'm not a fan of demons but i like how you made it so that the character sticks out in that one. : )

Ye :v thank you. The fallen angel one was actually a submission to some online card game or whatever to maybe be on a card. I didnt end up submitting it to the site, but I think it still turned out okay

These are pretty good. What program do you use?

I personally like the second one the best. Espion takes me back to the days when I played pokemon coliseum... :mrgreen:

I had a deviantart once, I often find that when people are not ignoring you, they will brutally and unfairly pick apart your artwork and find the tiniest flaw. When I had a deviantart, I had several hyper-critical people constantly bashing my work. One of them even told me to give up on art. I instead decided to stay committed to art and give up on the community instead. :P

I've had several friends complain that the deviantart community was unfriendly or ignored them.

I use paint tool SAI. c: I've gotten so used to it that I'm not as good at drawing on paper as I used to be.

Every community on the internet has its faults, I think. Although, I never really had anyone overly criticize my work... I've made a lot of friends there, and it's because of them that I haven't given up to be honest :u

lol same. I mainly work in illustrator, and I can do much more impressive stuff in illustrator than I can do on paper.

True, well it was about three or four years ago that I was on Deviantart. I wasn't as good/mature of an artist yet so that might have had something to do with it. Also the Deviantart community as a whole might be more mature than it used to be. Times change. Web forums grow and evolve. If you can have fun/make friends on Deviantart, then more power to you.

The place from my old lucid dream, which I've aptly titled "Nightmareville."

This is the best way I could recreate what the place from my dream looked like. It was like this all around the cobble circle road.

The buildings were a spooky Prague style with fog behind the spire fencing.

I've left out some detail on the buildings because I'm horrible at drawing structures, but they were mainly made up of dark red bricks with dark brown roofs. I'm not sure if I remember if there were lights on, but I do remember seeing at least one, so I'm guessing there was more.

The road was red brick, and it was wet from rain, although it wasn't raining in the dream, but I could smell the rain and feel the cold air.

Another one of my big works. Some promotional poster thing for an RPG game I'm making, that has a title inspired by a dream I had a long time ago. The Simulation Gestgeme.

And the opposite of the Espeon one up above... This one is called Moonlight, and has an Umbreon instead. It's also older than the Espeon one so this one doesn't look as good.
