I just got a new tattoo today... they truly are an addiction...

I know I'm new, but thought this might be a cool thread.

Ignore how awful the picture is...it was taken with a camera phone, and my arm is all shiny from the ointment lol. Im clueless as how to put it right in here, so heres a link to my myspace... theres a pic of it in there

I'm all about symbolism and originality. i drew the swallow last night, and the celtic shamrock (i got a year ago, colored it in today) was an old design that i modified.

The shamrock is symbolic of my irish pride and my grandfather. The swallow has a design on its back, the same design appears on my Quigley family coat of arms. Note the 3 dots and the thing below it. I interpreted this as the shamrock (3 dots - 3 parts of the shamrock) and the bottom part as a falling swallow.

The green symbolizes ireland, and the red and gold are the colors of my crest.

The swallow's wings have 7 feathers on each side, one for each letter in Q U I G L E Y.

My mother has a tattoo of a bird, so i chose the bird also as a reminder of her...

I hope you guys like it, hopefully the explanation will make it more interesting

Ill have better, newer pics once it heals up

who knows, maybe ill have a dream involving my tattoo tonight!

I have a little bitty mushroom tattoo on my outer right thigh. I want to get a couple more tattoos that are more visible next fall when I leave for college. I also want to get my nose pierced. I will try to post a picture of my tattoo later.

This is my 1st and only tattoo. Its on the small of my back and about 3 inches long. Not too terribly big. I need to go get it touched up though. Had it done in '98.

Not a good pic on my tatts... The bird like thing is a pheonix, tribal style... I have a much bigger tribal going from just below my neck to just above my elbow on my other side. with about 6-7h of needel time. Will se if I can get a pic of it and a more clear pic of this one... Love my tatts =) I'm all tribal with tatoos.

Here's my symbol.
It's me.
Located on my inner forearm.
The third eye is in the middle, but the unneeded parts are not visible. The lines on the sides are the physical eyes. They are closed. Triangle in the middle, because at the root of it all is simplicity.

Yeah I've seen alot more girls with angel wings...and I think it seems like a cool idea but it always looks kinda cheesy on them. I dunno. I want real wings damnit.

I've been considering getting a tattoo also. But I doubt I'd do it because if I did I'd want something crazy though. Like...a really realistic outline of my spine/spinal cord from the top of my neck all the way down to the tail bone.

Or I'd get a reagle somewhere. (combination between a rabbit and an eagle...basically just a cute bunny with eagle wings).

you know I was struggling with the same thought

it's like, on the one hand, I would want something really strange, and unique, that means something TO ME

but then I think in terms of what a guy would find hot...you know, like one of those cute little lowerback ones

so I'm thinking of going with a lowerback one, that looks kinda sexy when viewed from +cough+ behind, but it's gonna have a sick, wicked twist to it
