The third one (1st batch) has interesting objects, but is missing a mood (lighting, bg etc).
The second one (of the first batch), instead of boosting the contrast, you should map the shadow values to make full use of the (256) range.
It's only meant to show what a few simple lines of code can do in terms of lighting-realism. (I like the caustics...) And given the time it took to render it, I couldn't be bothered to make small adjustments. That's only a part of the original picture btw, the rendering was saved with 48 bits per pixel (actually 64, but alpha-channel wasn't used) so plenty of room to fix the light, if I wanted to.Quote:
