My poems
Daddy's Day
One sunny moring on the 6th of June,
I saw my daddy walk away
Away to the dunes of faraway omaha beach,
To help the allies clear the breach
He came back that day, all bloody and scarred
And said not a word as he walked to the car.
He tried to get in, but heard a screaching call,
"HALT!" said the germans, guns pointing at his head
He got out of the car, and shook his head.
They amied their rifles, I closed my eyes,
I heard a yell, and a rain of fire
:I ran outside tears streaming from my eyes,
It was then I knew, that daddy was dead.

A Speck on the Beach
One cold morning, on the 6th of June
My daddy was took from me
Right out there, in the sea.
He walked from ship to ship
And he was cast, into the murky brine
Out there on that beach that day
Where young children used to play;
The men met their match
And the generals could only watch
As there men sat there dying before them
As the day came to end,
When you looked around the bend,
You would see, piled there with ease,
The body of my daddy,
Cast into the sea.
