My digital camera doesn't work, and the scanner wasn't big enough, so the image is kinda chopped, but...
The intent of this picture is for you to focus on the woman's eyes. I just added the scarf part in today. That circle thing on her head is GOING to be some victorian era white hat sort of thing. But before I go further, I'd like some comments. The scarf isn't perfect, and I'm wondering if it's at all... discracting. So, yeah, comments and critiques, pleaase!

If you want the eyes to be focus of attention, you gotta add some life to them. The eyes are transparent and shinny - you'll need to add some highlights on the upper portion of the pupils as well as change the tone from top to bottom.
Try adding some detail,specially in the iris of the eye. There's lots of little patterns and textures there. Check out any women's magazines for references - you'll find some touched up examples which will give you a better idea of what needs to be modified in the eyes to give that "pop".
