      Poem #4

      Behold your image
      Trapped in its mirror
You try to hold it close
      It slips away
      Flat and still
      It does not move.
Have you seen this man before?
      It's hard to say.
Has this man seen you before?
      He does not speak.
      He slips away.
With our eyes we can see
      All we wish beyond them.
Why not turn them round and see?
      All we feel behind them.
For all the flowers and the trees
The grains of sand, the birds, the bees.
The multitude of things out there
Cannot match the sum of things we bear
Inside of here, behind our eyes,
The thoughts that orbit round your mind,
      Emotions listed by their kind.
But your eyes they cannot stetch that far,
And whoever you may meet today,
Not even they can see your heart,
Cause all your thoughts and inner parts,
Are hidden, lost from ears and eyes,
You see despair and hear their lies,
But cannot see the truth they hide,
      O image!
Step forth from the mirror, your host,
And become flesh because I love you most,
Yes, I love myself, it's true,
That even I am proud to boast,
I'm here! I'm me! Come all, and see!
See my skin, my hair, my nose,
Every inch from head to toes!
But lo! Hidden from their eyes,
The most important thing, it lies,
Behind those eyes! Behind your eyes!
Your mind, your thoughts, your truths, your lies,
Behind your eyes! Behind your eyes!
Your mind, your thoughts, your truth, your lies!
Lies hidden, from all their eyes.

I like it; it's very powerful and has a lot of emotion behind it.
