Mainly for mixing and FX I use Fruityloops 4.01. Most of the melodies are made on a midi keyboard, sometimes my guitar with a line-in to midi program, but I can't get any super good ones off of my guitar (not my fault ). If I need to seriously tweak a sound I use Adobe Audition.

(edit: about the guitar, I think it's the best damn instrument out there! To me, it seems like it is the most versitile instrument, more so than the human voice, that can communicate idea and feeling.)

ahh the blessed guitar....it can express much emotion..but we must give our vocals credit...for some songs and intimate poetry can express more

I love stringed instruments, it's just the way they are able to mimic the human voice, but able to do so much more. Don't get me wrong, I love my piano too, but it's much easier to have a connection with a guitar than a piano.

Wouldn't it be odd if we had to learn chords and scales in order to speak...

yeh i guess it was dumb....but thats the imaginations power for ya

i use the demo version of fruity loops, cause im waiting til i get my new comp before i buy the full version...im also gonna buy an electric drum set and midi keyboard...

and a language of chords and stuff isnt really so dumb...we already use tones and fluctuations in our voices to connotate various meanings (ie sarcasm or anger)...i know someone who has made an entire language using only clicks and tongue rolls, based off of morse code, so its definitely possible to speak using noises of various pitches, then depending on speed of fluctuations and and stuff to communicate...animals do it already ;p

also, not to be attention-whorey, i jus love how nobody ever checks out my music...or if they do, they dont say anything, i mean, is it really so hard to say 'i liked it' or even 'it sucked'? i mean, i generally try to make it a point, that if i took the time to go listen or read or look at someone's art to post what i feel about it...meh, maybe im jus the odd one out

i had fruity loops at one point, pretty good, but it has that certain cound to it. when you cant tell that it is made from fruityloops, and when it gets that certain sound then you can make some really really good music, if u know what i mean. i didnt get to that point cause my pc got cleaned.

I listened to Elegant Bigandry, that was probally one of my favourites, even with the noise that you can't take out it has alot of good emotion feeling to it.

Lucid sanctuary- Best part is when the 40 second mark starts, and the extra beat coincides with the main sounds.

Dream Seeker verse 2- Though that was awsome, remeinds me of the peaceful final fantasy VII music.
