I've been toying around with some experimental electronica with interesting drum rhythms. I just finished up a piece called 'Chillax' which I'm not sure if I like or not. Give me some feedback - positive or negative.

Nice to see another electronic musician on here.
I enjoyed the filter pads and mashups on this. The chord progression on this one was nice, as well. My only advice would be that the arpeggios seemed to lack any direction, and were all over the place. I would work more with another melody or hook on this one before I considered it finished. Still, the presentation is very dreamlike, Great job.
What software and/or hard synths do you use?
Yeah, I was thinking the same with the arpeggios. I always find myself getting bored with the melody about halfway through the song. I'm trying to think of a new way of presenting the material later in the song. I don't know if I want to use a different synth or maybe just change up the melodic structure/rhythm.
As for software, I'm embarrassed to say that I used nothing but Reason for this one. I'm a big cubase fan and I own a Motif 6. Those are generally my tools of choice. I also toss around a few free soft synths when I feel the urge. I'm running a low budget home studio out of my apartment, woo!
Yea, I know what you mean. I started out on Reason but found it lackluster at best and soon invested in Logic 7 Pro. I'm really not a huge fan of Reason because it takes too long to edit to make it sound halfway decent and by the time you do your inspiration has gone. You did a really impressive job for having used Reason.
