Unless someone expands the subject a bit is going to end sadly...

So, anyone here seen "The Wall"? I thought it was really a great movie...I want to get the DVD whenever I can...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

Yes, i must concur and extend my expert opinion in support of the statement that "floyd rules".

"Sean Connery, why don't you pick?"
"Well the game is afoot, I'll take anal bum cover for 7000"
"That's an album cover, not anal bum cover"
"I can read Trebeck! That says anal bum cover..."

I've been listening to Floys since the late 60's

Seen the Wall about 3 times, two of those was at the theater when it first came out.

I had the T-shirt with the marching hammers on it!

I wonder what it is about Floyd and lucid dreamers, almost all of them love Floyd!

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
      - Albert Einstein
"We're so engaged in doing things to achieve purposes of outer value that we forget the inner value, the rapture that is associated with being alive, is what it is all about."
      -Joseph Campbell
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilisation should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."

Pink Floydd DOES rule, and here is why I think so. I appreciate music for the talent it takes to make it, not just because it is popular. And Pink Floydd ranks high in this category. All of their songs are so well orchestrated, it just amazes me. Listen to the complexity of some of them and tell me that would be easy to play. Hmm, I think not? As for other bands, most new stuff that is out today is nothing but power chords, a lot of them it seems like have never even HEARD of a solo, much less played one. If you are looking for pure talent, check these out....

      -Rush
      -Led Zeppelin
      -Uriah Heep
      -Metallica
      -Van Halen
      -Eric Clapton
      -Steve Vai
      -Iron Maiden

      Just a couple suggestions
Its hard to dream recall when your starin' down the barrel of a loaded Thnikkaman.

I don't know. Never heard 'em. But I'll just say nah, it's all about Bone Thugz-N-Harmony!

And trouble may come and sometimes
You'll get pulled over by one time
      And when the 1999 rewinds
      Didn't even make any strides
Murder all around the whole world it's nauseatin'
      Everybody's hatin' everybody over rated
      While everybody actin' agitated
I thought we graduated back in the sattle waitin'
      Aboard the battle stations
      Hation is a birth defect
And you know ain't nobody perfect
      And when the curtains close
      Open up the doors
      No more

I bet itd be difficult to stand on one foot and balance an apple on my head for 5 hours, but that would be boring to watch. John COltrane was brilliante and played some of the most difficult things ever heard coming out of a saxaphone, but it gives me a headache after awhile!(all the respect to Mr. Coltrane) I love Pink Floyd because it sounds good. Some composers spend a lot of time writing complex pieces that are rather boring. But Floyd's creativity was incredible. And anyways, I wouldn't say Floyd has the most difficult music to play. Doesn't come anywhere near where Beethoven was at and that was how long ago?(really I dont know). And some bands play play simple power chords and have amazing music. All that matters to me is how it feels, not how complex the equation. But thats me.
