      Whats your medium of choice?

Sorry artist out their not to include instruments. But I figured the fine art catagory would be a topic enough on its own. We should do another for instruments.
Watercolor has a look to me that no other has. It is like an out of control medium that you have to work at the precise moment. If you do watercolor you know what I mean.
What are your favorite mediums to work with

i have been creatively writing for some time now, but if i could, i would rather do some watercolor. i saw this one picture on a wall at my doctor's office and it looked so beautiful. there was a shallow river and you could see the sun shining on the rocks at the bottom, and the river was surrounded by trees and they were blocking some of the sunlight. i thought it was just a normal picture from a camera, but after i looked at it for about the third time, i noticed that the leaves did not look real, so i got a closer look and saw it was a watercollor painting. i was amazed, it just looked so real. it really was a magnificent piece of art.
Have a WONDERFUL day, and when you're done, have a GREAT night's sleep. (and i hope you still think im as cute as a button)

I vote pen and pencil, because that's what I use the most!

otoh, pencil and pen feels much more natural.

The go-away-i-dont-do-art medium for me. I can't do art. Every art lesson I just sit there, because no matter how much I toil away I always end up with a useless blob of mess, whereas the time could of been spent much more wisely staring at the wall. I usually end up stacking the glue into a giant pyramid.

I suck with acrylics! I had fun with them in school, but I haven't really used them since.

My mediums of choice (I voted "other") are these: my "the" pencil (I think just about every artist has a "the" pencil), my Wacom tablet, and Photoshop 7.

The same way peaple say they cannot lucid dream? Thats bullshit. While some may be gifted more than others, art is somthing that can be taught. It has rules and guidlines like any thing else. While those rules can be broken there still are principles & composition that everyone can learn. I have seen peaple that thought they could only draw stick figures because thats all the credit thay gave themselves. Peaple believe there are artists and then there are the peaple who can't draw.

Yeah, I've tried to draw for 7 years now. I kind of gave up after the first 5.

Besides, I don't like art. I like looking at people's art, but I can't do art. And not liking a subject and trying to learn it is pretty useless, because you don't want to learn it anyway, and you're pratically fighting with yourself.

I've sat there listening to my art teacher, trying my hardest to get something that barely resembles a human being (any inanimate object would do as well, thanks), but instead I end up with a giant blob of useless mess. So I've given up, and I really don't like drawing anyway. I believe the best thing I have ever managed to draw was a circle colored orange with eyes on it. I don't intend to get any more advacned than that. I have trouble writing my own name in english letters as it is. My test papers have all the anwsers correct, but it looks like ancient egyptain, it's so bad.

I get what your saying. If your not interested in somthing you are not likely to learn it very well. I feel that way about math. I was not jumping on your back I just believe it can be taught. And so many peaple don't give it a fair chance because they say I am not an artist. Well I am not a math genius but I still know 7+8= fifty somthing.

i love acrylics. unfortunately i don't paint enough. been thinking of picking up a wacom tablet and doing some Painter magic, that program is sooo sweet.

edit: my icon is a painting I did with Painter a few years ago, it was quite fun to make...

Definitely pen and pencil. It just feels right. And not too messy either.

I use a Pen and the highest H pencil I can find. Mainly because since its a hard graphite you only have to sharpen it once every millenia.

Usually I can only use a 4H lying around, anything harder than that and I'll probably have to carve the drawing into the paper.

I'm a huge fan of colored pencil on dark paper. Almost all of this quarter's work was done with it. My least favorite is watercolor, because I'm not very good at it.

My VERY favorite medium is computer art, but that doesn't count here *shrug* oh well =)

You could choose "Other" then it would count.

I like drawing in my 4H and then scanning it and colouring it on the computer.

I do dabble in computer art...

$67,000.00 for a piece of art? that's crazeh. you should just make your own. it may not be as good, but it would save you like $66,990.00 dollars. >;D

Good idea. The only time art work is worth anything is when the artist is dead. I am going to fake my death!!!!!!

Best I can do is quote Brandon Boyd:

Yeah my pen is a pistola![/b]
I had to do it before lowecase found this....

Anyway the quote says it all I suck at drawing but I think I am a very decent writer. I like to write songs, although I don't play any instruments, so I just write lyrics and the rythm.....
      If I hadn't made me
