      Lucidbulbs' Artistic-ness

You guys *coughAdamALucidseeker* wanted to see me draw something for you to see how bad I am so, I guess a doodle will suffice.

Actually, I may just post some other stuff I do here now, just for the sake of getting some actual help on it. Trust me, I need lots of help with things like anatomy, perspective, backgrounds, and fluidity. [Facial expressions too, I tend to have them all look so sad or angry because I haven't really leanred how to do other ones yet, or I did and forgot, rusting up on my art...]

I might post some writings on here too, just to prove you all that my wacky dreams really do come from a wacky mind .

[Doodle is Algebra class, wasn't listening to the asymptotes lecture, I'm certain to do well on this exam]

You finally gave in! *Evil Laugh* I like what i am seeing Its alot better than mine, she looks confused around all those numbers

Haha, i am loving the random notes around the picture, but i do like what you have drawn. I will be analytical and try to suggest some improvements though. The eyes are great but i see that the left eye is a bit more distinctive, it stands out more that the right eye, though there would be shadow around the eye area i think it would be below and around the eye, not on the eye itself, for all i know you may not have been trying to achieve a shadow effect. I do like the eyes and the eyebrows though, very nice. Unless you purposely want the eyebrows that thick i think that maybe the could do a bit of thinning out.

But overall i think its a great drawing, makes mine look like crap Haha no worries, but keep up with it, we want to seemore of these drawing I see and i like! Keep it up

Lol, glad you like it, the person was made while I was trying to do math homework, I left the first copy at home so I had to act like I had something to work with so she wouldn't kill me.

Art wise, I really just added the right eye in as a last minute thought, and what ever shadows you see maybe from my eraser, I was playing with it too much since I left my normal one at home too [was using a kneaded rubber one, so much fun to pull apart, it creates a fluffy light texture, only dust-ish in appearance from the elements that make up an eraser].

I made the eyebrows thick on purpose, but yeah I can't remember why, and it could be a guy or a girl for all I know, I just like doodling up eyes, I make bigger, more elaborate ones normally but I felt like practicing with head shapes and stuff...

I guess I'll post in some random 'math' sketches in too. I get away with so much in that class, writing stories, translating lyrics, sleeping, drawing, etc.

... I just noticed too, in my own notes I mixed up my eye comments, unless I was referring to onlookers view then bleg, I'm tired/hungry, I'll go eat before I think of anything else to post. Glad you like it Lucid Seeker. [Wow, this post screams of things I do when hungry]

      Alice In Wonderland Cover

Here's a draft of my re-remake of the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass [I made one as a gift in middle school, though a 1/4 of the size of this one and much messier]. I'll be re-drawing it before going over with it in Copic .03-.5 pen markers and Prisma colors [either the colored pencils or markers].

I need to re-draw to make it bigger and learn how to draw Bread-and-butter-flies right [along with the rook... maybe add in the White Queen too] Dark because I was going to digitally redo it, then got lazy... Needs more details... even though most of the details are in the color scheme and such.

I know your a better at drawing than me Lucidbulbs, but i found this great site http://www.howtodrawmanga.com/tutorial.html and it gives some great tips in the tutorial section, i'm going to take a proper look at this tomorrow when working on my next project It may help you aswell, its got some good points.

I was thinking to myself, even if i could scan my pictures i wouldn't be able to fill them with colour properly. Your ownership of a graphics tablet makes me envy you so much, it would be cool if i could do some nice colouring eventually. But thats for later, for now i will just keep trying to improve the drawings in general

I can't wait to see some more drawings though

EDIT: I withdraw my previous statement, that is an awesome/creative picture there, i like it alot. The rabbit is especially good! I love the way you have taken many aspects of Alice in Wonderland and fused them together in this picture, its very creative and i really like it 10/10

Sure theres room for improvment, but your on the right track and its looking awesome My only squabble is the chess piece, its a shame its so small, if you could add a little more detail to it to make it as 3D as you can it would help i think.

Haha, I'm bad at chess pieces, just about as bad as remembering how to play it .

I love my tablet, I can doodle more freely with it, but I had to save up for two years before I could get my Wacom, and I was lucky there was a rebate on the normal sized one... but if you think I'm lucky, I know a man who not only has a tablet the size of a laptop, he has the skills of a god and the job worth envying.

Yeah, I'll keep up with my practice and see if I improve, but I think I might post some pictures from last year to show you how bad my art truly is.

You lucky devil, i may have to ask for a tablet for christmas, it would be so cool to colour my work, but i think that it would be another milestone to cross since i'm not very good at drawing yet lol. The shading would be too compelx for me But its achievable, maybe a few years.

Come on, get those pictures up here, i want to see some more work by you Your work inspires me so you need to keep them coming, and they are very very good also

Well, I said I'd post something old, so why not the cover to my sketch book? it's almost 2 years old, I couldn't do animal anatomy very well, stil la bit bad with it now too... I drew it when I first got my markers... I'm amazed thet aren't dry by now since it's bee nabout half a year since they were last used... Oh well, certainly worth its cost then if it lasts so long.

[PS- The scanner took out the shades on one wing... how lame...]

      I love it!

That really is a great piece, the shaded part of the dragons back mixed with the lines you have done in between go very well, i really like it. It looks like a very cool dragon, not the big mean ones lol You put alot of detail into that in terms of outline and shading/shadows. I think you should consider colouring the rest of this in, it would be cool to see the final product. I would have liked a darker green, but thats just personal preference. This drawing will still look awesome even with the turquoise colour. You did a great job on the overall shadow in the background, looks very realistic and fits well.

This has inspired me to do a drawing of something other than a girl/woman. I think an ancient chinese/japanese myth beast is in order because seriously this picture gave me some real inspiration! Thanks alot

A dragon with ram's horns, cool! I like the way you did the shadows too. I really do feel welcomed by the picture. That dragon seems so nice and lovable *heart gets torn out by evil dragon*

I've tried scanning and photographing pencil artwork a few times and it never does work out right. As you said, the lighter shading and details get wiped away.

Oh, if that were an evil dragon, I don't think I'd survive coloring! One wrong move and there goe smy head.

Yeah... I really couldn't fix it on photoshop either, if I made one part dark enough then the contrast gets too... yucky... Ah... the pains of scanners.
