      Scrapbooking

      Does anyone here get into scrapbooking at all? Either paper or digital?

      I do paper scrapbooking in my limited free time. Each of my animals have their own scrapbook with pics from kitten/puppyhood on up. It's pretty time-consuming though, and can be expensive to start off with all the materials and everything. But it's more fun that just slipping photo prints into a regular boring photo album.

      The other thing is that it's hard to come up with new ideas for pages too. I was wondering if there was anyone on DV that was into scrapbooking and maybe we could chat and/or swap ideas.

      Man, if only I could get you in contact with my mom. She LOVES scrapbooking and is quite gifted at it. Today she was just showing us her new stamps. They're not the wooden ones, but the flexible clear ones that simply adhere to an acrylic block and then you just clean up and replace. Perhaps I'll show you a little of what she's done.

      I did make a little photo album for a friend, but it was a kit. It was fun, though!

      That's cool, Ame! Thanks for replying, I was starting to think that no one here is old enough to appreciate scrapbooking...

      I would LOVE to see some of your mom's work! It's so cool seeing how other people put pages together and the kinds of layouts they use.

      Hmm, scrapbooking is only something I've heard of really... could you explain what it's all about? I suppose you put pictures in, and then souvenirs of stuff you've done. What else is there to it?

      Yep, that's pretty much it. It's a glorified photo album, basically.

      All my albums hold 12" x 12" paper, and I use anywhere from 2 to 4 pictures per page. You can crop the pictures into different shapes, use different color paper for contrasting borders, and use embellishments such as stickers and stamps. I like to write in mine too, to make comments by the pictures or write dates in.

      I should post some pics so you get an idea of what a page can look like... *goes to take some pics*


      ok, here are a couple examples of some of the pages I've done. Nothing fancy - I'm a novice at this... Sorry the pics suck, btw. The flash makes a glare.

      Hmm, I should start scrapbooking little pictures of my puppy...damn I should have taken more..though I've got a few..so eh. I'm going to try and gather some. Sounds like fun though.

      Yeah, its a lot of fun! I love taking pictures and being creative and scrapbooking lets me do both
