On this it has to be big. If you shrink it it gets a crunched effect on the planets surface.

I really like the body; the colors and shading seem just right
However, the neck seems a tad too thick for his head. A stronger looking, tougher head might have fit better. Perhaps you might try to add a more...I dunno, comic-like approach? The body might add more to that style than the anime-style does.
That, or trim the neck down a bit.
EDIT: Just me, or are the eyes a little too far up? I'm not an anime expert per se, so correct me if I've made a mistake.

What program did you use for the planets, I recognized the planets surface generator as terragen, but I'm curious as to how you made the planets, they're really cool.

Those are really good anima.
I really like the second one, especially all the firey detail. But you have to look at the BIG version folks to know what I'm talking about.
