Ultimately; it is not ending here; it is beginning.
You may be forgiven for interpreting an ending into a beginning.
Perhaps even alive.

"Why?"
"Maybe... It wants something?"
"What does it want?"
"Quiet child."

No longer. I thought as much. However since I have been thrown; physically and mentally.
This isn't even real; how can it be?
SCREAMS.
"I don't understand the question actually."
She looks at me.
"No? Never mind. "
"It is finished; you may leave now."
We are walking; together. Doors lie open.
The cool air refreshes us. Maple trees overlook the roof; they long for the forest.
This is where we shall remain. 15 Minutes; maybe 20. We'll see how good you are.
"Beware. That gateway lies in disrepair; however you should not approach it."
"Why?"
"No-one alive knows why. Why shouldn't a gateway be in disrepair?"
"Does no-one care for such things?"
"What's to care for? Steel, paint?"
"Whats to care for? Flesh, bone?"
"Witty. Forget {SP?} the gateway. If I see you nearby I will take action."

A phone rang.
"What time is it?"
"I heard she talked to him."
We hear applauds.
"Whatever went on two days ago?"
We hear laughter from the audience

"What happened? We were worried?"

Fleetingly; I glanced to the gate.
The gate glanced back.
I felt it's eyes on me.

It stares. It is void of emotion.
"Why is it staring at me?"

I look; my daughter gazes at me.

A blank expression. It stares to the heavens and feels its cry.

Once she is gone I remain.

If I exist below the main text do I exist? I asked myself this and other questions as I stared up through the bars seperating me.
I find myself here. I am apparently no longer trapped in those bars. But;; With a slight raise I am.. how can this be.

Outside in the park; things aren''t the same.
A thin fog surrounds me as I stumble.
Where have I been? Who was back there?
If I recall there was a face. A blank face; staring at me.
I was with someone.

The trees whisper amongst themselves as they watch.
They look on.
Where is this?

It seems not.. What is in the forest?
The trees live there.
The trees; yes. I suspected it.
They aid each other; they pull. They strain from the ground; ripping and tearing. They live. Burning.
This is the forest.
-Then why is there stones?
Stones.
The stones talk to the trees. They too watch me stumble.
I see their true nature reflected upon the waters.
They are monoliths of the earth; taller than even a ferret.

What is "Ferret?"

Regardless.
The roots are creeping. Clawing at me.

Shock sets in.

The gateway calls.

Identity; it seems.
Who are these characters.
There is alot of dialogue; but I for one would appreciate seeing some narrative; at least explain who these people are. As it stands we are fumbling in the dark trying to follow these sparse clues.

The sun burns my face; I do not care. I run towards the gateway.

On the darkness of the moor.

"Soon he will be leaving.."
They are crouched; watching through a gap.
"What is he doing?"
They look bemused.
"What is he achieving?"
They murmur; curses and all other foul words as they peep.
One laughs.
"He is ignorant; correct it"
"Correct what?" Another replies
"The trees. They do not menace our protagonist.
They love her."
He grins.
"Why?"
"How do you know?"
His voice trembles for a moment.
"I saw her"
DEATH.
THEY DIE.
But.
No buts.
They knew too much.
Roll credits.

The hall is filled with bright white light. Fog seeps in the sides and a man materialises.
"Welcome to our parish" he says; eyeing me up and down. His eyes scrutinising me.
The church falls; its four corners collapse and I am left alone.
Everything is grey.

There is a sense of longing in here;
why can't I be at peace..

Ahead there is a gateway.
..Should I pass through?

"Why would this happen?"
The audience applaud.
"It happened two days ago already."
"Two days? That's tough."
"Where is she now?"

He wonders, bloodily, whether there will be continuation.
An extention of that which we already know to have ended.
Bloodily, bloodily he wonders.
And somewhere, where the shadows meet and sunlight never reaches...
...somewhere...
He stops. Gets up. Goes home. Forgets his wonderment.
And lives on.
...I like this, Carou. You clearly have an interest in language, in sounds and rhythm and flow and structure.

The next morning was entirely different. When he awoke he felt like a new person. That day he saw Gabrielle again. She waved at him.
He walked slowly through the corridor; occasionaly looking from side to side; inspecting the rooms. He couldn't see her.
"Will!"
He turned quickly to see the nurse running towards him.
"..Yeah?"
"Your sister has been moved, to ward C"
He looked at her, appalled.
"Again?! You said that she was going to stay in that private room!"
He glared at the short woman. He truly felt angry, angry at himself as much as at the nurse; he had left her alone in this place.
The woman retorted
"Well, I'm sorry but we had a large shipment of fieldmice in yesterday; cases like your sister's need to be put to one side in comparison!"
Will turned; a puzzled look on his face.
"Fieldmice.. in a hospital?"
The nurse smiled and replied;
"Of course. We need them to eat the corpses of the recently deceased."
Will stopped dead and stared at the woman, not even stammering. His blood began to boil again..
"What..?!"
"I said we need to import coal in order to dispose of used syringes. I don't see what's so scary about that Will."
She hurried away down a corridor, her oversized backside wriggling energetically.
Will stood stock still. A look of utter confusion on his face.
In the corner of his eye he thought he saw a blank face looking at him through the window.
There is nothing.

I approach it; I can hear the trees behind me. Cursing and shouting.

I'll destroy it and make a new one.
A paradise.
You kill others

What are you fighting for?

Will that bring peace and simplicity?
