I made a new thread for this because I was worried that the copious amounts of .gifs in my .gif thread would slow down the video for some people.
Anyways, here it is - my juggling tutorial. I think most everyone should be able to learn to juggle from this, given enough drive. If you're having a lot of trouble at any point, it would be great if you could film yourself practicing and send me a link or post it in this thread. Maybe I could give you some extra, personalized pointers. :)
Hope that helps!

Listen to what gnome says - don't juggle with tennis balls. They will piss you off to no end because you'll be dropping them and chasing after them each time. Pretty much the only reason learning the cascade took me more than a day to learn.
Anyway juggling isn't as hard as its reputation.. I can do pretty much any 3 or 4 ball trick except burke's barrage. Some 5 ball stuff too.

Nice, jhnnyman! You should try to learn Burke's, it's one of the most fun tricks to do in my opinion. Especially if you can already do mills mess and rubensteins, orbit or even just crossed-arms, it's only a little step farther.
If enough people express interest, I could try to make some tutorials for more advanced tricks. They get hard to explain, though, without one-on-one feedback. There's a lot of intuition going on, and everyone gets to understand the trick in different ways.

Awesome, Gnome! Thanks a ton! I'm downloading this so I can watch it as many times as I need to learn it, once I get home and find something to juggle. ;)

I am trying to learn Burke's, well it's just hard to wrap my mind around it. But meanwhile that damn 2-ball Terrorist is distracting me (google it), it's incredibly annoying that I can't do a 2-ball trick =P
I can see that advanced tricks are hard to explain, and I haven't found any tutorials that explain them well. For example, burke's barrage..

Yeah, haha I love that move! It's great practice for four and five ball speeds. I did it for a few seconds in the two-ball section of my 'hardest tricks' video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzNSvakq7q8)
I actually just taught Burke's to a guy in my school, so I've had some practice trying to explain. Maybe if you're still having trouble later I can try to make a good tutorial on that for you. I don't know if I'll be able to, though, it's tough to explain :?

You can make a video if you want, but you don't have to :)
edit: holy shit lol, I just did five cycles of the Terrorist =|

What's really nuts, is there's a reason it's called the "two ball" terrorist... there's a three ball version! http://www.juggl.org/tricks.php?id=102
I have yet to try it, but I plan on being able to do it by the end of this coming weekend, hopefully. It looks like a 441 pattern on steroids! :D

gnome, that's a really good tutorial! :) And you're nice to look at too ;)
I will have to try this (probably with the socks) sometime. Thanks for making this tutorial - it's very good and helpful!

I'm starting to get the hang of this Terrorist.. speaking of which, I thought the reason it was called the Terrorist was because it confuses even experienced jugglers. And yeah, I saw the 3-ball version =/

Thanks, Burns! :)
One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that socks are pretty light - they may tend to bounce out of your hands a bit. I didn't do this, but I've seen people toss a few coins in them before rolling them up, and that seemed to make it easier for them. Good luck!
This is awesome. I can't wait to post a video. I'm having a lot of trouble doing three continuously. So, from the third time you throw a ball and onward, you throw it during that small amount of time before the last one hits your hand, right? Hehe, also, my tendency is to throw the third ball all low and/or forward... I guess I lose my concentration at that point. I'll keep working on it though. Maybe I'll end up posting a vid of what NOT to do.

I think there's a stage between concentrating on each ball being thrown/caught and just feeling the whole pattern, kind of like riding a bike. It sounds to me like you might be stressing about catching that second ball, so you throw the third one hastily. Maybe if you try doing it over a bed or couch, and just not catch any of the balls, you can practice throwing three balls at the right pace, all around the same height. If you do try this, be careful not to throw the balls too fast - wait until each previous one peaks. It should take almost two full seconds to get off all three throws.
And yeah, your cue to throw the next ball is when the previous ball peaks. I also forgot to mention this in the video (darn!), but it helps a lot to 'look through' the upper-middle part of the pattern, and not look at the balls individually. This helps me see each ball peak without missing any catches.
Good luck! :)
Oh, and Elis, that's an awesome animation! Those balls look fun to juggle, haha. I've tried basketballs before, larger/heavier ones feel very satisfying. Man, that sounds wrong. I get a lot of off-color jokes, carrying six balls in my pocket everywhere I go

That's pretty much how I juggle.
Although I can't do it how you do in the avie.

Heh, I followed your actions on the video and I can now do the three ball cascade. I need something heavier than socks, though... mine tend to fly off every now and then.
Great tutorial.

Awesome! I recommend you try that coin trick, if you have some pennies lying around. I'm excited for you :D

Haha, alright...
Lay out a sock flat, and start rolling it up (like a sleeping bag) from the toe up towards the opening. Once you get close enough to the opening, push the rolled-up bit through the opening (like, open up the top part of the sock and push the roll upwards through it). You should end up with a little bit of the "mouth" of the sock inside-out, covering up that rolled up bit.
If this is too light, try putting some coins into the sock before rolling it up.

Right on. Well, my dad plays baseball so he got me three significantly heavier balls and it works wonders.
Now for the trick tutorial. :P

I gave up. LOL. I mean, I got the three ball flash, but I was having trouble catching the both of the socks in one hand. I dunno. My hand eye co-ordination is excellent, I was just having trouble situating both socks when i had to catch em.

One thing I just found out: it helps (at least for me) if you keep your hands rotating constantly to keep the rhythm going.

OMG, when you fake threw the third ball that wasn't there. I actually thought i saw a third ball. Trick of the mind.:P
