Thread: Music: The Cornell Boxes (complete)

I love it skysaw, its a very interesting score and i love the direction and approach you have taken in this.

All in all, a very enjoyable suite to listen to and i think its inspiring that you have achieved this. Good job

wow, skysaw...very nice. I just heard Hotel Eden, and am now downloading the rest. Sounded very cinematic to me, and it built up very well. good use of textures too. Id like to hear it performed by a live orchestra. I've certainly heard worst compositions performed. (thats not to say Hotel Eden was bad, but you get me)

wow, just finished the lot. The last 3 pieces are my favourites. Great conclusion too. Sounded really magical. You so should do film composition as a job. Anyway, thanks for the good listening

Thanks Barns. Rose Castle seems to be a favorite for a lot of people.

Heh, I remember when you posted that one piece when it was still in progress (Rose Castle). Nice to see the entire set completed.

Haven't listened to the whole set yet, but you had me stumped for a while with the time signatures (I like figuring them out when they're not the obvious 4/4). Tempo had me counting 8ths, so I figured 6/8 because of the tempo, then at times it seemed like there were some 5/8 measures sprinkled in there - I'd catch on for a few measures, then start stumbling again!

After cheating (checking the score) I realized I just needed to slow my count down!

If you like tough time signature challenges, make sure you listen to the second movement (Sand Fountain). Try tapping your toe to it, and it's bound to drive you mad.
