most of the greatest artists and thinkers throughout history give at least a little bit of credit to their dreams.
Nope... still your ideas... (as long as the dream art wasn't ripped from someone else and isn't ACTUALLY someone else's ideas)...
Many of the great artists use dreams as part of their creativity including Stephen King, Hemingway, Walt Disney, and of course Salvador Dali

Many dreams are just the brain cobbling together random thoughts and information into something slightly more linear. Your brain did it, so it is your idea. I mean, only if you don't dream of something you read about or saw on the telly. :P
Nope. It's not cheating.
The only cheating in art is blatantly copying the heart of someone else's idea. Dreams, drugs, meditation, free association, emotional outbursts, depression, elation, accident, etc.... Use whatever you have at your disposal to unlock your potential. I'd say, just don't abuse whatever it is you choose (since I'm not going to condone drug addiction to create art exactly) but many of the worlds greatest artists died from their inspiration, due to drug over dose or suicide or whatever else. Its all a matter of dedication, really.
Your dreams come from your mind and everything within its bounds-- So no, it is not cheating.
