      Some Paintings

Here are some digital paintings I did in the past week.

I used to paint in acrylics and draw with charcoal, but I stopped about 4 years ago. I'm going to stick with digital painting for a while, but I might transition back to physical media at some point, not sure.

      Nice work.

How long does it take to work digitally. Compared to that of charcoal and such?

For me, it usually takes longer to work in physical media. Digital work has the advantage of correction tools, like Smudge and Lasso. Brush settings are also a time-saver. Both of those I just did only took an evening, maybe 3-4 hours.

Oil paintings used to take me forever, I never got comfortable with oil painting. I usually mucked up the paintings by overworking it.

Acrylics were generally quick, I knew what I wanted and how to get it, so it felt more direct than oil paints.

Charcoal is variable. Figure drawings are a snap (minutes), but a detailed drawing can take many hours. I did a self-portrait a long time ago that took 12 hours, but it was on large paper.

Watercolors were possibly the fastest medium to work with.

I am not comfortable with oil either. But I am not comfortable with the digital age. I just can't get into it. Having nothing against it, it just is not fun for me
To me watercolors are my favorite medium to work with. Although you can dry brush with watercolor like any other, the fun is in the fastness. although it is fast it is a science. Once you master wet on wet you can create the most marvelous of paintings - IMHO
