Just a little poem...

I have to say right now I'm not much of a poet... but I did come up with something a while ago that I think might be postworthy. You'll blatantly see on the last line where the inspiration for this little piece comes from.

In deep dark night, he has long been forgotten
A creature reborn evil, foul and rotten
Should he have found even one friend
Surely our fair little world would end
In this world he's perhaps the lonliest bloke
So uses he the dark of night as his cloak

There once was a time that he'd given his all
To protect Earth's creatures, large and small
Many would've said his heart be of gold
Though now that small organ be covered in mold
From all he had rescued, not even one thanks
E'en though he had lit'rally marched through Hell's ranks

And since not a soul was the least bit grateful
For his deeds, he began to grow hateful
Of the very people who'd once needed him so
Though he'd be the last hero they'd ever know
The only one among them who was not weak
The only one bold enough to fight for the meek

The only one so selfless as to give his time
So that he may shield the rest from Satan's crimes
The only one to be so completely forgotten
As if all of his aid had never been soughten
Now the hero's the villain, and tall he does stand
His vow for vengeance echoes: "I am Iron Man!"

Yeah. Cheesy, I know. Seemed like a good idea at the time, though.
