Well I might as well have a music corner for my music
My style is very mixed but at the moment I'm going for a more chilled out feel

Heres a nice tune u can listen to, to drift away.

phallam - Bitter Shine to the Morning (lame name huh?)

phallam - Dear Jodie (a mate of mine wrote a poem for his gf which I put into this tune of mine. Its sweeet )

I'll try to give you some constructive critisism here...

Dear Jodie - The sounds are ok, although you should try to add more elements to your mix, and work on giving it more depth, try some mastering, play around with EQ's and compressing. And you should really try to vary the drum patterns more, as they do get boring after about 2-3 minutes... Don't be afraid to expierment, it doesn't have to be complex, but the song really needs variation, at about 4 mins I was really tempted to just fast forward throug the song to look for other elements, but hey, I hate it when people fast forward through my music, so I won't
Anyway, you're on the right track I guess, seeing it as this isn't one of those commercial trance "boom boom uNF *insert female moan* uNF uNF" kind of tracks But keep in mind, the music you make is not to be made after a recipe, it's your music, you cna do whatever you want!

Bitter shine to the morning - I really like the pads at the beginning on this one, although the do get very monotone after listening to the same patterns for 2-3 mins. I still think you should introduce key elements sooner, as listening to the same patterns over and over again can be really boring unless the patterns has a lot of variation or "hidden" sounds in them... Again, I'm tempted to fast forward at around 2:30, but the introduction of the bass gives it a nice touch, and I really like the calming part that comes right after this. After this is just seems like you keep on playing with the same stuff, introducing only a few new sounds as it moves along.
To be honest, the lack of variation does not justify the length or your tracks.

As a final comment, I think you should really work on putting some more elements into your mixes, try to give your sounds more depth, add subtle effects, do some mastering, and most importantly, don't EVER be afraid to do something different or play around. You are onto something here though, I like the whole calming ambient style you're into, if you practice more, and develop this style to become your own, you can probably make some really good stuff

Oh, and don't take anything the wrong way, I'm just trying to give you constructive critisism, and I wouldn't imagine a post saying "Greeeeeeeeeat!! keep it up!!!" would help you much along your way...
You look like me, but you talk like a stranger...
