Meet Normand
He is currently being cast in plaster to be made into an array of latex masks. I fucked up a little bit on the casting process and wasted a bunch of plaster because this is my first time working with the stuff, but hopefully it will all work out in the end.Art

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.

I will probably wear this on halloween but its mostly just a practice. I've wanted to get in to mask making for awhile and I needed to do something fairly simple. Hopefully eventually I will be able to sell them.

I think because Normand is usually associated with very neutral people, a flat character perhaps - this Normand, however, is grotesque and wrinkled and not at all a 'stereotypical' Normand.

I guess that makes sense. The original concept of the mask was that it was to be for a Viking costume that I'm putting together for this halloween. Normand is a name that evolved from the word 'norseman' and basically means viking.
Its funny, because I decided on the name after reading the Steven King Book, Rose Madder. The Antagonist in the book is named Norman. I thought it fit but wanted to add the D thinking it sounded better and only realized later how well it worked.Art
