Unelias and his Dreamworld

I started this thread in order to post drawings, paintings, sketches from my dreams and dreamworld in general :) I actually had this in mind for long time, to do gallery that has pure dream theme in it.

The only downside is that I am being quite busy for next half a year so I see how much I can draw and post :) so I created this first one quite hastily so I can get this thread started. All comments are welcome of course and I try to make this as entertaining as possible.

Anyways let's start with introducing first one of my two dreamguides, Sharadaun. She is witty, easy-going and kind, even though she is fond of teasing me with her ironic comments. Our first meeting dated almost decade back, when she started to appear in my dreams. Since then we have been stuck together ^^ I like to have conversations with her and ask her opinions in many things.

The only things she doesn't actually have is the tattoo on her forehead. As you can see it is the same symbol I use as avatar. Too bad I didn't do proper work with the symbol though.

She is cute isn't she ^^ the fun fact about her is that she has actually denied me for having sex with her by threathening that she will wake me up if I try :lol:

So let this one be a starter and see how much I can do this and with what schedule :) I'll update when I get more done!

The location is on the base of a mountain called Unikulkijan huippu (Dreamwalker's Peak). The tree which is shown in a picture is a very important memory to me, because I actually had my first real lucid dream while seeing it. The river that flows through the picture falls down from both directions and creates a maelstrom in the bottom. One of my favorite things is to jump down from the highest peak of the mountain and fall straight into the maelstrom, using it as teleportal at the same time ^^

The sky is usually violet ( most of the things are actually, it is my favorite colour :P ) and is filled with other colours and shapes. It is usually moving and flowing constantly. My lucid dreams tend to be with strange colour themes or at least not as realistic as my normal dreams are. I rarely want to change colours though, they are nice as they are :)

The little light thingies can be considered some form of will'o'wisps. They have been inhabiting my dreams as long as I can remember. They just... are :D and fly around.

I am not in this picture, but you can see Sharadaun there. She has stated that this is her favorite place in my imagination., so I usually come here if I want to summon her. Gazing stars is also very fun at the top of the mountain :>

Oh my head is very interesting in general ^^ I try to get more detailed pictures when I have time too. Next step would be outside my dreamhold :)

Her hair is a pretty hard to draw since I doubt no hair in real world is really like that ^^ they are a bit like dreadlocks but then again not. :D

I try to get next pic for Thursday :) lets see how it fares.

Looks uncannily like princess amidala, even the dress is very very similar.
It's amazing how our dreams can take facets from our wakng experience reprocess them and create something new.

Hmm I can see the resembalance there :) yet I believe there are some things in my real life that have influenced her appereance even more, they are very personal though :)

A new picture that I worked yesterday for five hours :) If you look the previous picture you can see that there is forest in the left. This is what I saw when I decided to go into the heart of forest. The same river flows under the bridge that flows in the previous picture :)

I tried to capture some of the "dreamy" look, I have never been very good at painting scenes, at least not by memory :P

Anyways, the river looked amazing. The water sparked with quite odd colours and run rapidly down. The bridge seemed actually be a root of a tree since it didn't look any ordinary bridge I had seen before :P the scene was full of tree roots. They crawled and streched in every direction and run under the river too :) it was quite dim ( light rarely behaves naturally in my dreams) but there was this magical kind of light that pushed itself through the darkness above. There wasn't that much actual leaves but it felt like the "roof" was full of leaves :> In overall, it created quite strange scene, the trees and the holes in them sparked with different colours too and there was a little misty :)

Somebody said me that it feels somewhat like Alice in Wonderland scene or something :>

We shall see if I can make one more picture before Monday, since I won't be around for a while after that :)

Amazing drawings, Unelias. I especially like that last one. Something about the atmosphere is very powerful and strikes a chord in me. I feel a real connection to it, like that same scene will appear in my dreams now that I've seen it. I can't wait for more.

What do you paint with?

So here I am again with a new picture. This time is the turn to show my another "dreamguide". His name is Yulo and his personality is rather interesting. Now, if we are to believe that these two characters would be parts of my sub-conscious, Yulo would definetly be the ego. He is arrogant, vain, rude, impulsive and very hedonistic by nature. He has brown eyes and very heavy lids. Usually his eyes looks like eyes of a man who hasn't slept for weeks.

He wears usually all kinds of bandanas and scarfs. He is also physically quite well build and is about my height. He often smokes but the smell of his "tobacco" or whatever it is, doesn't feel very familiar. It is just something I can never put my finger on ^^ His primal objective and meaning of life seems to be turning my dreams into a porn movie or party and being generally rude.

I tried a new style to draw him so I was kind of playing around :) it turned out quite nice but the eyes were left from detail because the lack of time. I just had to finish this picture before my absence, otherwise I would have gone nuts :P

to robot butler : I use currently photshop and my intuous drawing tabled. I have considered of getting my hands on PainterX too, but we shall see :)

again thanks for comments! I won't be near my comp for about two weeks at least, starting Monday :) I start drawing again after that!

I suspected they were painted with a tablet. I have never been very good at painting in photoshop, even though I use a tablet for image editing. Maybe I need to get some advice from you :D

Like I predicted, I had a dream about the forrested painting you posted a while back. You've inspired my dreams :D I was there with some friends, exploring the marshy forest. It was raining, and the mossy ground was covered in frogs of all kinds. The sky showed purple through the tree branches, and reflected off the river. It was a lot like the purple you see in a sunset. We ended up finding an outdoor open-air restaurant in a clearing, like a cafeteria. I remember thinking how great the restaurant would be if it was a warm sunny day.

wow, it looks like you put a lot of time into those drawings, did you use corel painter?

Hmm, there does seem to be some Photoshop artifacts, but it looks more like a Corel Painter drawing, as all the strokes look digital, but really nice.

I am in army now so I have very little free time to do paintings but I think I take my sketchbook there and try to draw traditional pen & paper works. I am quite busy there though and my free time is limited, but I try my best.

Yes they are usually quite dim and dark. I dislike light in general since my eyes hurt badly in strong light, so I love dim litted rooms and such :P

Nice that you found that place :D inspiring others is always hard whatever you are doing and I am glad if I have succeeded in it :)

I try to make one painting before I get back to barracks at Monday.

My works will look artificial for long time untill I learn to make them more natural ^^ I try my best but I cannot train much now, so I focus more on sketching and making good scenes which I can paint later on :)

A new speedpainting :) 45 mins of work. The scene is sunset on near the ocean.
The place looked like fishing peer or something, very beautiful place. The sunset bled everywhere and made everything look golden. The fishing nets and a lone ship on the sea. I walked there on water but there was no one there ^^

I try to do some pen & paper sketches on the week if I have time and I scan them. Next picture(s) (hopefully) on next weekend :)

I was stalking him, and it looks like he still pops on every once and a while. I think he mentioned he would just not have a lot of time to paint.

You know, that pic of your DG in your first post (aside from being very well done) kind of inspires me to look for my own DG. Should I become lucid in the near future, I'm definitely going to have to take a look around.

...Which begs the question, is there any particular method you used to find your DG? Just out of curiosity, of course.

Long time no see for everyone :) I just finished my leadership thing that lasted 3 months and now I am back at my home barracks. I still have 6 months left for my army but luckily I am now 15 min away from my home. I seriously hope I can get active again with the forum and the drawing :) I have made many sketches, popped new ideas, written 'em down. Now I just have to grab a pencil and do them :D

Easier said than done.. but anyways its great to see ya'll again and I look forward to new things :) sadly my LDing has suffered a great blow because I hardly have time to keep DJ and get lucid because lack of sleep and rush. But I still have lots of interesting dreams even non-lucid :D

hmm I have told some of it in other threads, but they have prolly gotten lost in the winds of time :P All my "DGs" ( I rarely use that word ) appeared in my normal dreams. But those two never left me alone so I used a LD to figure them out. I personally regard them merely as part of my subconcious, as I think many do. I am still hunting a third one but he/she is a tricky one. I cannot get hold of it in LDs and I don't see that thing every night. But I am now kinda obsessed to learn his/hers name :P

Good to have you back. I'm sure you'll be lucid again in no time. It seems to come back pretty quick.

I've taken a break from painting for a while too. Things have calmed down a bit, so maybe I'll find some time to make some new stuff.

Thank ye, only downside is that my dreamjournal usually consist only keywords because I can build the whole dream from them only. Of course I could try to write a longer description for every picture, which would fit as a take from dj :)

I finally got my tablet back and started stretching out :) I made another picture of Sharadaun, tried to create a pretty one :P I hope I get my groove back and do more in a reasonable time. ^^

Unelias, these paintings are awesome. I think my favorite so far (besides the one of your dream guide) has to be the forest one. Really epic.

And I'm guessing that language Sharadaun is speaking in the pic above me is Suomi?

The island of feathers is a place where in early Finnish children stories and folklore souls go when they are asleep. Somehow correlates with English term Slumberland, I think. :)
