Tutorial
I don't have any 3D glasses, so I haven't exactly seen the effect myself, but judging by the replies, this really works. If so, it's one of the coolest tutorials I've ever seen in my life. I will be trying this out soon.

I have 3D glasses, but they're not the red and blue kind. These are pink and green. My brother got them after he bought My Bloody Valentine.
ive got the 3d glasses that are just black
Slash, those are called shutter glasses. The idea is essentially the same, just a completely different technique.
The pictures in the tutorial don't work with red/blue glasses, since there's a yelow colour in there aswell, which messes things up. Stereoscopic 3D vision is way cooler, since it doesn't mess up the colours and doesn't require glasses. It does hurt on the eyes over time though :P
Sweet, finally some use for watching that X games 3d movie. I got the same ones as slash, seem to be a lot better than those crap flimsy colored ones.
Edit: For some reason, these don't seem to work for the pictures there. :(
Edit#2: Ah, it says it needs the red/blue glasses, dangit.
there is another you type of 3d than this. its really cool. its like 2 of the same video put next to each other, and you cross your eyes and voila, 3d, just like wearing glasses
That's what I mentioned in my post, it's called stereoscopic 3D vision.
Yea, that's how 3D recording works. You record the same image from slightly different angels. Fromt here it just depends on how you create the 3D effect for later viewing. For that we got anaglyphic 3D, stereoscopic 3D and probably some other options aswell.
