Disconnected
Confused.
To no avail I struggled to please you.
I bled my soul to try and be good enough for you.
Denied.
Ignored like a transient's cries,
I could take no more so I departed.
Torn.
Yet, part of me remained with you.
The part of my soul that smiles and loves.
Lonely.
I need my heart to burn again.
For who would warm themself by a dead fire?
Sleepless.
I can't forget you, I try to move on.
But you fill my thoughts and dreams.
Haunted.
Regret's specter groans in my heart's halls.
What a fool I was to have been so impatient.
Passed Over.
The world waits for no man's grievings.
So I stand and watch it pass by.
Reminiscing.
I recall the time when I was happy.
When I was plugged into the world and alive.
Disconnected . . .
