A Fateful Piece

It's called "The Elegy of Twine"; technically, it isn't mine, because I didn't think it up -- it came to me from some entranced freewriting. It is a prophecy for the end of the world...multiple ends, actually. See if you can decode it.

If the Thread should string along
On into the flame
Then pray the world rejoice in song
Harmony soon to reign

But if the Thread is thus cut short
The world would do to mourn
For by misery will be distort
The world of passing born

But soft! Should the angel fall
The burn will never light
The Thread will wither in the pall
Man cast into ne'erending night

just a personal interpretation, hope I知 close to the meaning (lol). I love esoteric writing.

If the Thread should string along *
On into the flame *
Then pray the world rejoice in song *
Harmony soon to reign
I知 not sure on the biblical context of this poem as I知 not a reader of the bible! Are you referring to some fate of Armageddon or the natural destiny of man through death? After destruction comes peace and understanding and dissolution becomes agreement in a world without hate or misfortune.

But if the Thread is thus cut short *
The world would do to mourn *
For by misery will be distort *
The world of passing born
If we do not heed the lessons of our past we destroy ourselves, we will therefore not fulfill our true calling? A decent into Hell in which time is ignored and people are imprisoned by hate and evil?

But soft! Should the angel fall *
The burn will never light *
The Thread will wither in the pall *
Man cast into ne'erending night
But by chance in a bendable universe, the flame will be blown out by the wind of the angel (a true calling of referring to world peace?) the thread in which you based your poem on will disappear and lose it meaning, humankind radiates in unbound darkness?

I really like it. what i enjoy with peoples writing is the Interpretation.

With the title are you refering to the thin string of life? how it can be taken from us in a whim?
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".

Ooh goodie, I've got a fan! I love it too, and I think that's why my freewriting is always so clouded...
I知 not sure on the biblical context of this poem as I知 not a reader of the bible! Are you referring to some fate of Armageddon or the natural destiny of man through death? Oh don't worry, it's not biblical at all. Well, as far as I can tell, flame does refer to a literal apocalypse...I never thought of it that way, but what you said about \"[A]fter destruction comes peace and understanding and dissolution becomes agreement in a world without hate or misfortune\" is actually pretty accurate, I believe. Wow, cool! Can I quote you in future reference?
If we do not heed the lessons of our past we destroy ourselves, we will therefore not fulfill our true calling? A decent into Hell in which time is ignored and people are imprisoned by hate and evil?

Good idea, but not quite ^_^;

Erm...actually, it's more pessimistic than that; you've got the good and the bad reversed. If I remember my high school Dramatic Arts and Literature, \"soft\" was used in Shakespeare's day -- if not primarily by the bard himself -- and means \"wait a minute\". The term \"fall\" here means \"die\". Likewise, \"night\" I think is referring to extinction. O.o;;

I really like it. what i enjoy with peoples writing is the Interpretation.

Me too, me too! That's why even if dream interpretation is a little shaky, I still love hearing how some other people see it. You've done a spectacular job with this. I think it's better than what I've determined, only because it's more optimistic.
With the title are you refering to the thin string of life? how it can be taken from us in a whim?

I'm not sure...I think it refers to the Thread as life -- and from what I can tell, a specific life, but in the context of the title referring to life in general -- and therefore, an elegy for life.

I always find it extremely fascinating to read other peoples writing style because you also learn more about your own technique and approach. The common misconception with most 層riters is that writing is a individual journey, most people have an egotistical perspective when it comes to writing,. If you are open to other peoples manner you are more attuned to your own, that why I like to give a lot of input into other peoples work. I try and use dream interpretation in my daily life (essays etc) its great that everything is connected, once you try and interpret dreams you can use it on many other areas in your life (Poems, Music, Stories) Now I am familiar with your picture (Anime is Cool esp Lain, Cowboy-Bebop and Gundam) I hope to see more posts. If you are also into reading other peoples work, I have pasted a sample of my own writing below, feel free to tell me what you think.

When you refer to freeform writing, do you suggest that you contact your subconscious and let it speak rather than your consciousness? I usually write without consiously thinking then go back and re-jig it and mix the two forms. Like in Waking life when the writer is explaining to that women behind the desk. hope you enjoy.....

典he once colourfully lit sunlight sky becomes consumed with clouds of fire, the soft yellow shade assimilating into the dark and depressing heavenly lit red hue. Its intensity rises like waves from the sea, rolling towards an unknown destination between heaven and the hell ridden earth. The image before his eyes looks like a canvas, a painting which glimpses into another dimension, outside this world. A distant land that appears baron before innocent eyes. The shapes emerge into a mysterious pattern, seemingly unstructured within his blistering vision. A circle forms within a vortex of clouds, thunder echoes closer between a dream and trueness, the distinctions of which seem to blur with the vision of lightening striking inside the weird and wonderful whirlpool of fire light.

鄭n old yet curiously looking hunchbacked man with two carrier bags in each hand shuffles slowly across the fog of the forest as the red sky exchanges its light and the day closes upon the darkness of the night. The ducks in the pond seem interested by the mystical figure, they move towards him in anticipation of food within the bags. A strange shadow moves from inside the fog, a howling sound follows it痴 fluxing shadow, a dog emerges from the dust filled ground, running towards the man.. He exchanges both bags into one hand as he begins to stroke the dogs outer coat with a purposeful and warming smile to his hand.
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".
