      The DV Scrapbook Story

      The Idea:
I started this thread to have some fun with mine and others writing or art abilities. The general idea is that DV members write a entry into the "book" and lets see if we can't create an interesting story that will make for a good over reading when it's done.

      The Plot:
A young boy slips into a coma and is placed into a dream world. He eventually comes to realize this and meets dream characters that help him to reach lucidity in his dream, which he uses to help the citizens of the main city in the dream world to over come the tyrant dream lord harassing the dream characters. Upon the boys attainment of full lucidity he may or may not gain the strength to overcome his coma. It depends on who writes the final entry
      The Rules:

      1. You can only post once per page.
      2. Your post can be as long as you would like, but no less than seven sentences.
      3. Do not edit anyone's previous in yours, it would actually be nice if we could get a mod or admin in on this that could do that. But hopefully every double checks their posts before they submit them.
      4. Lets try and keep this tasteful, interesting, and avoid adding any ridiculousness nonsense or trolling with mockery posts.
      5. do not change any characters names or events that have happened up to your post, KEEP WITH THE STORY
      6. You can also creat illustrations for the book as well but don not flood the pages with them try to keep it two to a page
      7. Let the artistic juices flow
      Main characters info:
      Name:Jacob
      age: 13
      Location:Seattle, WA
Everything else will be filled in as the story progress... After the info is filled out i'll write the first entry to get the story rolling

"There's nothing better than knowing what it's like to fly like superman. Being fully aware of the air whipping by you, controlling every movement of every single atom in your body with a single thought. It's real freedom, and there's not a word good enough to describe it, so I'll just call it dreamy for now."

The car had rolled, he knew it had. It felt like he had just been on a fair ride, but more painful and bloody. Jacob wished his mother had waited around, at the soccer game. He wished she hadn't been in such a hurry to get her papers from work. She always forgot them, what was so different this time?

Jacob could see his blood dripping down his chin, this sent him into a state of panic. He looked around at the other members of his soccer team, his friends Timothy fourteen and Brian thirteen the same age as Jacob. They both had not moved and it didn't look like they could. The vans roof had folded in and was jabbing Timothy in the side as well as pressing on Brian's face. Jacob didn't know it yet but his best friends, his friends he was just joking and cutting up with, were dead. They had been killed from the shock of the van slamming into the first tree they had hit. Jacob began crying uncontrollably and laid his face in his hands, sobbing into them, mixing his tears with his blood. He raised his head up and looked at Sherry, Brian's mom. She looked like she was sleeping in the drivers seat, except her chest wasn't rising and falling with breath, in fact she wasn't breathing at all. Jacob didn't understand any of it as it all flooded him in the moment, all he could get worked around in his head was that he could smell gasoline and the smell was getting stronger. Jacob felt his face for the source of the blood, but he could find no cuts on his face. His hands moved to the top of his head where he felt a mushy soft gash in his crown. He screamed with fear of the extent of his injury. He knew he needed to get out of the wreckage, at least then he could try something. He didn't know if he could kick out the rear window, but he knew if he didn't he could die here.

Jacob slowly crawled through the pieces of broken glass and sharp mangled metal. When he passed his friend Timothy he looked at his friends eyes, they were turning red. Jacob couldn't stand to look at him but couldn't tear his eyes away from his dead friend. Jacob felt a dull thud in the back of his head start to pick up, and he began to have a sever migraine. This alone tore his attention away from his friend, he knew his injury was getting worse, he focused on his previous thought. He laid on his back and pulled his legs to his chest, then kicked the bottom corner of the shattered rear window. It bowed out but didn't separate from the rear door. He pulled his legs up once more, and kicked again. This time the corner of the window turned outward. Jacob kept kicking until there was a large enough hole for his small thirteen year old frame to climb out.

Head first he crawled out of the hole, taking cuts and scrapes from the glass. He crawled into the wet cold grass. It had been raining, the van had hydroplaned into the guardrail and was sent soaring over it. The rain had done this. Now, the rain was soothing his small cuts and scrapes. He inched away from the van until the migraine took his consciousness away. As he faded out, he thought he heard ambulance sirens screaming off in the distance. Jacob didn't know it yet but he had just succumbed to a coma. A coma that would take him to an new place, with new faces, and new adventures.

Yea, I'll join in I guess. Not now however, because my laptop is terribly slow and I hate writing long passages with the possibility of the page crashing
