      Spenner's Visual/Musical interpretations

Alright, this thread may get a little weird, but I'll try to keep it as straightforward as possible:

I ALWAYS see movements, more than just the image, and emotions mixed into any visual and it's influenced by the specific song. In this thread I'll post the song (a link, if I can) and the image and I'll describe what I see/feel in the image as I listen.

Others can join in if they please, and if they're good at doing this if you do have your way with trying, try to be as vivid as possible when describing. Capture the emotion you're feeling, rather than just the plain physical appearance.

First off, one that I very much recognize!

And the song (Z-Twig by Aphex Twin)

As it starts I see the glow of the dull colours diffuse into the center. It appears to slide down the diagonal as a child wood a hill on a sled, leaving a gaseous trail of white. It condenses and constantly evaporates and materializes in the square near the top-middle that looks like a cloud. It's constantly growing and receding like a billion tiny white arms trying to attack the blue around it. Constantly, outside of the focal point, navy blue splatters form and fade. As the song fades the dullness grows from the middle of whiteness and cleans off the top row of squares with a subtle greyness.

Please mind any typos, I'm generally really out of focus and not even looking at what I'm typing >_> but yeah, there's my first one. I'll update whenever I please-- so anyone else, feel free.

It's interesting to know what you see when you look at this image with this music.

Do you always see the same patterns? Or do they change each time?

See, there's three factors usually involved: The picture, the music, and my mood. The music and picture would be the same each time if my mood were static, but it's usually always changing in some way, so pretty much it has some variation each time for the same group of things. On a depressive day, I might see more bland or decay-looking colours instead of bright white and happy colours, just depends really.

      Image:
      Spoiler for Big image:

      Song:
      http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/213825

The apple is the focal point. Booming and outwardly spraying red rings that fade to white and then to nothing to every drum beat. Every synth note makes yellow sparks appear around the edges dependent on the tone. The sharper snare like drums make rectangular bars fade around the apple and around it appears mountains that are blue and red at the same time (alternating within peripheral vision). Drum solos engage a blue mountain to grow from bottom of picture to top of apple, dull yellow is in the middle of the mountain but it is very subtle. The ending results in a navy blue explosion like shape to fade over it and spread to the edges.

Emotional change for this one is very subtle, there's a feeling of confidence when the song picks up but really no drastic changes.

The blurriness of the painting suggests a detachment from reality, a sadness, a depression, a numbness. A car driving away from a glum sky, where just above, you see a bright light, a symbol of hope? A broken reality?

Sorry, I could just wonder, I'm not too good at this

The video has lyrics, don't know if that's okay

Go insane for me, I'm that selfish you see
      We're a wicked rhyme, a line followed
By the darkest picture, making everyone cry

The atmospheric nostalgic feeling of being in an old toy room as a toddler. White lights beaming through window, dull gray shadows, the smell of a fresh house, and clean wood. Dust adds a refreshing thickness to the air. Sitting in the very prescence of the toys that are in simple abstract shapes makes a feeling of bewildering happiness. It's so nostalgic and so atmospherically greatly positive in this room. Very warm. The room is a hugging sweater of comfort and, as a child, I wish to spend the rest of my days in the room.

EDIT and yes, lyrics are fine it all depends on your own musical preference. Good description, too. I can definitely see where you're coming from with that.

      Song:

      Parabol + Parabola by Tool

Drifting slowly over the soft curves as a burst of warmth, crawling through the patches of cloudy temperature, adding orange as footsteps, breathing yellow. Black in peripheral.

Second song starts and the edges curl upwards into a black coal and crumble into straight edges of razor blades, flapping like a raven. Screaming sand. Fuck off, it tells me. I breathe red onto it and step onto it's face. I dig into the sand and it's so very cold under the surface. Wet and black. Filthy and stains me, and I raise out of the ground to be burning with the dirtiness piercing me like daggers. I pick up the large rough stones and sand myself down on all sides, skinning me. I rip out my tendons and stomp them into orange pebbles. Kicking my feet off I fall down backwards and inhale and exhale and inhale and exhale...
