      LDS's Quilling

      OK, first off, I have posted a brief, little thread in here before about a quilled basket, but I am just going to use this one thread for all of my quilling pics!

      First off, what is quilling you ask? Well: "Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. ...". Found from google!

      Most quilling uses 3 mm wide strips, so very thin. Most of my quilling is 3D, so it's a little wider at 5 mm, for doing the 3D stuff! It involves using lots of paper...

      I can honestly say I have never heard of quilling before, its good stuff; and it looks like you are quite good at it.

      It's amazing. I was looking through my old books and I found a quilling book. I forgot I had that. I didn't even know it was called quilling I just thought it was some sort of craft book. I need to try it out.

      All of these are magnets. They're on these plastic things for the bottom of chairs. Clever, huh ?

      This butterfly has two "stilts" on either side of the wings for a bit of a 3D effect .





      I need to buy him tiny googly eyes...5 mm are huge on him . More like 3 mm....

      OMG, it's DONE! At least 50 hours of work! Maybe more like 55! You should hear how crazy I sound right now! Good thing I am alone .









      I used pearl quilling paper on her. Can you tell?

      EDIT: Rug is actually 7 inches by 8 inches! I just remeasured it! Oh, and with the mathematics and all of multiplying...the rug consists of at least 440 coils! If you don't believe me- do the multiplication for yourself!
