      Absurdity of Lucid Dreaming

      Hey people

Has anybody ever considered how absurd it must be to wake up during the night during REM cycles to attempt to have a lucid dream? I stepped out of my normal mind of thinking today for a few minutes and I just thought that it is quite a weird concept. Has anybody else thought this or not? Not saying that I don't like LD, I love it, but I was just wondering what others think.

I don't think it's that wierd; a lot of people get up in the middle of the night anyways, even if not for a lucid. In that case, it's just a form of meditation and heightening one's consciousness.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I used to have a sleeping pattern where I woke up many times a night when my REM-period ended. I lost that pattern now, but I try to get it no again.

Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

I wake up generally at 2am or 5am (or both), after getting to sleep at roughly 11pm. This lines up with 3hr sleep cycles, and it occurs completely naturally for me, and for most of my life it's happened. Some nights I won't wake up, but most I do.
It gives me a good opportunity to roll over and write in my dream journal about the dream I just had while it's still clear in my mind, and then just go straight back to sleep or (attempt ><) to WILD
