Pick any movie that has to do with lucid dreams.
Mines would be Inception. :cooler: Loved the acting, the plot, and the unique abilitites of different dreamers.

Favourite movie of all time. I haven't watched too many though.
Acting, plot, script, special effects, cinematography, and it's about dreams. What more could I ask for?
vanilla sky
reminds me of my own life
Ah, one i left out as well was Sucker Punch. :)
Obviously Inception ^^
But i also liked Paprika (even while i hate animes). It showed the crazy nature of dreams well :)
Vanilla sky and Paprika were both interesting lucid dream movies. Keep em coming people. :cooler:
I got recommended Waking Life on our site... but i still didn't watch it... It's some kind of cartoon-ish and is about LD, i think... But it didn't appeal that much to me yet to watch it.
Inception, because it's the only one I've seen thus far.
Is Paprika good though? Because I don't generally love anime, especially if it looks outdated.
Waking Life, easily. Linklater is my favorite director whether he's doing "deep" or goofy or inspirational or straight up romcom. Waking Life is rotoscoped, which is animation drawn over actual footage with the level of detail varying from photorealistic to barely coherent blobs of color, depending on the lucidity or abstraction of a given scene. A Scanner Darkly was done the same way (also by Linklater).
Of all the films that bring in elements of lucid dreaming, Waking Life is probably the most informed by and grounded in how LDs really work. The lucid dream is a framing device for exploring quite a few actual philosophies and thought experiments, rather than a trippy peg to hang an action movie on.
A couple of other Linklater movies I love are School of Rock and Before Sunset.
I have heard of Waking Life too Littlezoe. But just can't shake the fact that its a bit to cartoon-ish for my taste as well.
Would you recommend this movie Waking Life Taosaur? Cause i have heard good reviews about the film, Just not sure about seeing it yet since its a cartoon version.
I like anime, and I didn't care too much for Paprika.
As for the original topic, Open Your Eyes.
Waking Life! Definitely my Favorite. As Taosaur said it is A movie that was filmed then drawn over. I can't believe more of you haven't seen it, This movie is in fact the reason I had my first lucid dream, just two nights after I watched it. Not only is the whole movie in a dream, but the fact that it is a Movie that was drawn over really makes it feel like a dream. This movie also Touches so many other topics then Lucid Dreams and is really deep, It has one bit that talks about how technology has and keeps improving at a quicker and quicker rate, and how human thought process as evolved with it. To much to talk about and I don't want to bore anyone that is not interested so to finish I'll say Recommended to anyone who is into Lucid Dreams, and thinking deep.
I think i may give this movie a shot then. :)
waking life
Sucker punch was one of my all time favorite movies. The experience of seeing in in IMAX I can only describe as being bitch slapped by a freight train.
I'm surprised the Science of Sleep isn't mentioned yet!
Michel Gondry has such an awesome, unique style and really gets what dreams are all about- I haven't yet seen a director who so well translates them to film. Check out some of his music videos for Bjork as well. I suppose Eternal Sunshine is sort of dreamy as well.
Vanilla Sky. I have a strong sentimental attachment to this one.
I loved "Abre los ojos" (1997). It's the movie that Vanilla Sky copied, almost scene by scene. Link: Open Your Eyes (1997) - IMDb

Oh wait, nevermind
(My favorite is Paprika)
