The best way to tell the difference between a good wine and a not-so-good wine is drinking it at room temperature. The natural flavors of the wine are masked when it is chilled. There is a reason cheap wines and beers are served ice cold. My personal favorite type of wine is a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. If you are looking for a wine that will please anyone, especially non-wine drinkers, try an Italian Moscato (avoid the American ones though). If drinking reds, make sure you allow it to breathe first. Having an aerator helps a lot with this. |
